Reading the comments on my last post, The Weight Loss Roller Coaster, excited me to no end (and made me a little nervous too). πŸ™‚ I am thrilled that many of you want to join me during these 30 Days of Torture towards healthy living, and I know that if we set our minds to it, we can do anything for twenty minutes a day.
I am personally working my way through these days by challenging myself with the 30 Day Shred. (You can purchase it from Amazon, Target, and someone even mentioned having it in their NetFlicks queue. It’s about $10 and a more frugal option than joining a gym.) For twenty minutes, the trainer, Jillian from The Biggest Loser, asks a lot of our bodies, but she guarantees results. She offers options for various fitness levels, but I don’t want these 30 days to be about a specific program. I want these 30 days to be about forming new healthy living habits. Whether you dust off a VHS tape that’s been on your shelf for years, or commit to cutting out sugar for the month, pick an area of discouragement and decide now to give it no ground this month. For me, it’s exercise.
For months, my husband diligently worked through a high intensity program called P90X, and wanted me to join in. Every night, I flat out said, β€œNo.” I wasn’t ready to commit, in layman’s terms, lack of self discipline. BUT, I am ready now and you all are helping me realize that we can do this together by encouraging each other while holding each other accountable.
Starting Monday, I will begin Day 1 and then will update with a short blog post late that night. You can all chime in in the comments section, and share how your day went. Then after that I will keep updating either in a blog post or on my Facebook Page. Each Saturday, I will put Mr. Linky up and if you have a blog, you can link up with your progress and share for us all to read.
Considering that last year we were in the midst of unemployment, I know that sometimes an extra $10 just might not be in the budget. I would like to use my Swagbucks and buy two 30 Day Shred DVDs to give away. Hopefully, this will start a few of you off on the right foot.
