Gazing at these pictures tonight, I had an epiphany.
I eyed a daughter who suddenly noticed
she was being watched,
and then sprinted passionately to the mother she loves.
Yet I also saw myself, and how I desire to run the race.
This race called LIFE!

This race called LIFE!

at least not in this season.

and pretend that everything is alright.
“How are you?”
“Just fine, thanks, and you?”
Do I truly want to become vulnerable by taking off that “mask” we women are such masters at wearing?

changes the truth that I am more precious than
gold or silver.
I am cherished beyond measure.
I am His beloved child!
There’s a lot of junk that keeps popping up in my path that makes me have to hurdle and sometimes trip—but I’m running—I am. And I’m going to win this race too 🙂
Lovely thoughts. Lovely pictures!
Wow…you don’t know how this post touched me! So beautifully done…and so inspired in the truest sense of the word!
What a great post! Love the pictures but the words are just as powerful!

Thanks so much for the beautiful reminder this morning. The delightful pictures only added to the impact.
I love the pictures!
I love the principle!
Thanks for the reminder!
Run to Him and rest in Him!
This life and earthly relationships require us to constantly expend our mind and heart energy…
…from loving your husband to listening to a friend,
…from motherhood to ministry,
…from errands to taxi-service,
…from balancing checkbooks to brain-storming family calendar and schedule management.
Rest in Him recharges our hearts and minds – along with a healthier, more well-balanced, eternal perspective, which leaves the world scratching their heads at the apparent paradox…
Rest in Him produces a more fruitful and powerful life.
There you have it… my self-pep-talk or personally needed reflection for this day!
Thanks for the “spirit stir”!
What a great post. Thanks for the reminder!
Absolutely amazing post. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful, beautiful post!
Beautiful! He is always waiting for us to run to Him. What a wonderful, amazing Father.

Wonderful post!
Jen, what a wonderful word picture today!
What a wonderful post today!!! Thanks!!!
This is absolutely priceless. WHOA!
And just when I came over for a controversy… 😉
What a sweet message to accompany lovely pictures! It makes me anticipate the big hug I hope to receive from my Father, just like the one it looks like you had coming for you. I hope you had time to put your camera down before nearly being knocked over by the little girl who loves you more than life!
Great pictures!
About your toddler ideas, please please please add them!!! 🙂
Beautiful…
Oh, Jen, that is just beautiful…the thoughts AND the pictures.
That is a great story! I’m not sure if you have seen the short stage drama called Everything by Lifehouse. It is on Godtube. It IS dramatic so caution if watching around the kids. Here is the web address:

Love your blog!
Hi Jen–How fun to find you hear in the blogging world. Last time we crossed paths you were waiting with children for sports physicals and I was up to my eyeballs alphabetizing charts!
Love your blog! This post is a great reminder and an encouragement to me.
Kids are just awesome! Simple and perfect! and sweet! Beautiful pics! Thanks for visiting my blog!!

What a beautiful post….so very well done!
This was a perfectly fitting post for me to start my day with today – thanks!
How sweet. You are so right. We must keep our head in the real race & not this rat race we live in everyday.
Thanks for the reminder.
Such a great post with beautiful pictures and a true message. Thanks for sharing, it’s a great help to me, I will be thinking about it all day. 🙂
Oh, and by the way, I posted today about my first attempt at putting to practice your grocery guru advice. Just wanted you to know that your ideas helped out at least one gal a whole lot!
Wow. Just incredible art – prose and picts.
Thanks. I needed that.

blessings!
This is something I needed to be reminded of! It really is so easy for me to slip into those all too familiar patterns (of forgetting what is important, pretending everything’s great, etc.) What a wonderful reminder (with beautiful pictures) to run to God…and rest there. 🙂
Wonderful post! …beautiful verse, executed in such a beautiful manner! 🙂
I read your post below too! I was so disappointed, I didn’t make it to Kmart. It is 35 minutes from me, and I just couldn’t find another reason to go that way last week, so I didn’t know if the cost of gas would justify my savings! I also missed the great sales and coupons at Dollar General last week! At 5:45 on Sunday evening, I realized as I finally sat down to read the weekly paper, that the sale was conluding in 15 minutes. 🙁 But I did hit CVS, and saved quite a bit on toothpaste! YAY! Hope you are having a great week! 🙂 ~RHonda
Jen,
I’m doing a series now called “Dollars and Sense” about ways to budget and save money. I’d love to link over to your coupon tutorial when I get to the grocery saving portion, if that’s okay! It was fantastic, and you were great at explaining everything! 🙂 Let me know!
Blessings,
Stacey
Cute, and a wonderful message!
Those pictures are amazing! (I’m scrapbooking the series in my head…)
BEAUTIFUL – thanks for sharing.
