For months, my dad has been telling me about this restaurant website that their couples group has been using. I kept procrastinating in checking it out because I doubted that this could be “the amazing deal” he was proclaiming.
Imagine my surprise when I was listening to Focus on the Family and they did a “hot tips money moment” and this was mentioned. I quickly looked into it and couldn’t believe the wonderful offers.
This is a time sensitive offer that is only good through the end of the month. They offer new deals every week, but I have yet to hear about one this excellent. You can type in your zip code to see what restaurants participate.
The restaurants vary and there are limited coupon certificates offered. Please note the minimum purchases and buy accordingly.
Does this sound too good to be true? It’s not. My parents’ friends have been enjoying this secret all year. (Edited to add: Click on ‘comments’ below to read additional tips and reviews).
I just purchased $30 in coupon certificates for $1.80. 🙂 Once you enter your card info and commit to the purchase, they will immediately send you the certificate to print via email.

Thanks, Dad.
Yes, your daughter needs to listen to you more often. THIS IS WAS AN AMAZING TIP! xoxo
Remember to type in the code “napkin” or it will be $10 (which is also a great deal, but we want the best deal. 🙂
Jen, I am SHOCKED, I cant believe I knew a great deal before you, lol. I would have mentioned it to you, but I really thought for you it would be old news, lol. We have been using this for quite some time. Even here on vacation in Gulf Shores we are enjoying really nice meals for a fraction of the cost. They do have rules, and some restaurant are much stricter then others, but it is a great deal! The Cincy area offers alot of restaurants that accept this deal, so we are lucky! Have a great holiday weekend! Sue
Great deals and a wonderful way to support your local restaurants, but as a member of the hospitality industry, I have a friendly reminder. Please tip your server on the full guest check before any discounts. (As long as the service is acceptable, of course : ) Some of the coupons mention this in the rules, others do not, but it is always customary to tip on the full amount, no matter how you arrived at a discounted check. Thanks : )
Jeanette – THANK YOU, THANK YOU – for this reminder. Since I was a server/waitress for SEVEN years, I was very appreciative of those that remembered this important courtesy. 🙂
Seconding the tip-on-the-full-amount advice! (I spent 5 years in the trenches in college…)
I bought 2 certificates to the restaurant of our nearby chef school… Cordon Bleu. FYI… if you have a CIA or other chef school nearby, usually they have a restaurant where you can get a prix-fixe meal for MUCH lower than you’d pay once the chefs get out of school! The CB offers lunch for $20, and dinner for $30 or $40 with wine pairings (you can also get things a la carte). It’s a nice restaurant and is run by the students, who spend a rotation both in the kitchen and out front as servers (overseen by a pro). Fun for a different take on your anniversary, or if you want a special meal for a lower price! PS –You don’t tip for service — any tips you do add go toward student scholarships, at least at the Cordon Bleu near us.
This is a great site that Josh and I use often. The piece that you have to be careful about is the required minimum purchase at some of the locations. This cause us to spend more than we normally would to save money. Although, we did learn our lesson and we look at the requirements carefully before purchasing. The other thing I like about this site is that it encourages us to try new places that we would not otherwise know about. Good point about tipping too! Dont slight your waitstaff! Thanks for the coupon code Jen – I am going to start shopping. 🙂
Thanks for the great frugal tip! I already went to the site and purchased a cert. to a place we frequent often, anyway!
How long can I use the “special” code?

Sorry, I went back and see it is good thru 5/25/09.

Thanks! I’ll have to check this website out!
Just ordered mine! I would NEVER have done this had you not posted about it. Thanks so much, Jen!
For those who have used these, can you use more than one $25 gift cert at a time?
Girl, I LOVE restaurant.com. We used it twice in April, saving $50!
I love Restaurant.com! We use it locally, and when we travel. Great deals!
I wish there were some restaurants in our area on their website. 🙁 What a deal for those who can take advantage of it.
This “seems” too good to be true, but I just purchased 20 of them! We are moving from FL to CA this summer so I figured we’d find plenty of opportunities along the way. Also…GIFTS! THANK YOU I found this on the eve of expiration 10:30 pm on the 31st!
