It’s no secret that I love cooking shows. They inspire me, and challenge me to think outside my typical daily meal-making routine, which often falls into a rut.
In fact, I’ve shared how my 8-year-old daughter and I bonded over reality TV cooking shows this past summer. Since this is the first year our family has ever paid for television (yes, all these years, we have only had access to five limited channels), I had no idea what I was missing out on, but now I patiently wait for a new season.
What’s the problem with that scenario? I don’t want to wait til next year for that new season, and I definitely wish I didn’t have to pay to watch these new favorite shows of mine.
So when MSN contacted me about being an ambassador for “Kitchen Cookoff,” a new online cooking experience launching in early November, I was thrilled to accept.
Not only is it completely free, but they’ve partnered with Hillshire Farm and Delish to bring you a
dynamic cooking competition that encourages women to share the stories behind their favorite meals, and discover the sweet, and sometimes surprising, benefits of cooking for their families.
Over the next few months, each episode will include two contestants engaging in some friendly competition, as they pit one recipe against each other. Not only that, but there will be video cooking tips, recipes and the opportunity for you to share your own treasured recipes. (I’ll let you know more details about that soon.) The series will be hosted by food connoisseur and Sara Lee chef Jill Houk.
I don’t know about you, but I am excited to see all that they have in store for us. I am always ready for some new inspiration, especially some that’s so easily available. It doesn’t get much better than food shows straight from my laptop.
Am I the only one who continues to marvel at the great things technology offers?
