we needed to liven things up around our homestead, we’ve added some blessed additions.
And they are as precious as can be. They haven’t opened their eyes yet, but we can’t wait for that next step. They are yellow labs – three males, and three females.
But, I guess to be more exact, I know how you feel, momma. Motherhood is exhausting, isn’t it?
She could stay in their whelping box all day long.
My daughter thought for sure she was going to be a big sister, and is still waiting for a new addition.
A few months ago, I began a post sharing my “big news.”
It still sits unpublished. I never finished it.
I had planned an entire lifetime in those ten days that I suspected I was pregnant.
How old would the baby be during our family reunion? How huge would I be at Christmas?
How could I get more organized with my upcoming home school year etc.
It’s amazing how we can plan a lifetime in just one day, isn’t it?
I don’t expect that post to ever be published (just in case you’re wondering), but for now, I will live vicariously through my sweet doggy.
As I type, I listen to all of them nursing.
It’s precious, and yep, it’s giving me that baby itch. 🙂
Beautiful posts! Beautiful puppies! I so get what you are saying. I understand how you feel.
Oh, and I thought I had a bad case of baby love, with our new puppy….but SIX of them…oh my!
Congrats, I guess!!! 🙂
Suzanne
Oh those sweet nuggets!!
Puppy breath is just the best!
Baby itch, you say? My latest post is on quite the similar topic!!
Alas, for just ONE more!!!
.mac 🙂
Precious!
Ahhhh…So sweet!
I remember when my in-laws had lab puppies. We watched them born and we just had to pick one to be ours. It was the first and last little they had. Watching those pups was just the most amazing thing!
Does the baby itch ever go away?
Wow! and Wow! Isn’t it sad when you think you might be, you know, and you aren’t? But, you might want to save that post just in case.
I want a puppy.
Your puppies are so adorable! I’ve always felt that I’ve missed out by not ever having a litter of anything. Our pets have always been neutered or spayed even our purebred dogs. I feel sad about that.
It’s amazing how we can run with one thought like that, isn’t it? I don’t know HOW many relationships I’ve planned…
How adorable! I love puppies!
Hope and pray that unpublished post can be posted soon! 😀
SO sweet! Yes, I’ve been there before too. Sometimes we build things up only to be let down … it’s hard. But you never know what the Lord has in store for you. Don’t delete that post just yet! For now, enjoy those precious puppy babies. So cute.
~Amanda
How precious! I have never seen a baby animal being born. I think that would be so awesome to witness!!! Now will you keep them all or sell them?
Those are the cutest little puppies!
So sweet!!!! 🙂 They are beautiful!
You hold on to that post. You never know what he has in store for you! (I know this oh so well!!) 🙂
Blessings to you today! 🙂
Oh. Oh, my. Oh, my goodness. What adorable babies. I’m not sure there’s anything in the world cuter than a puppy. Baby humans, I suppose. But puppies really pull at my heartstrings. Thank you for sharing yours!
After nine years had passed since my last baby, I didn’t ever expect more, either… Then I had twins!!! You never know what is around the next corner 🙂 (and sometimes that is a good thing, hee hee)
Aww they’re beautiful!
Puppies are just the sweetest things. I love the picture of your daughter holding a puppy. The puppies will definitely keep you on your toes!
oh how sweet-isn’t it crazy how quickly we fall in love with the idea of a child-even when we only suspect a pregnancy-i can totally relate to your unpublished posts! enjoy holding your surrogate babies!
I understand your excitement. Our Golden, Dixie, had her first litter at the beginning of february. I have a blog just for the puppies and it help alot when trying to sell them. You can check it out at http://kughnkennel.blogspot.com/
What sweet balls of cuteness! My lab puppy will be 12 this summer and there is nothing better than a lab. She makes me smile because she was my first baby. Seeing your pups is giving me puppy fever, but I think I’ll hold off. Labs chew so much and I really would like to sell my house one day. Good luck with the pups!!
Those puppies are the most adorable things! I had Golden Retrievers (sisters) when I was first married many years ago. One of the girls gave us a litter of 13 puppies, 11 of which survived. It was amazing. I still love that puppy smell and puppy breath and watching the mama dog mother those babies. My neighbors poodle just had a litter of 3 Yorkie-Poos and they are cute, but not as cute as your Labs!
I understand that baby planning. I have 4, always wanted more, and now know it won’t be happening. I am certainly happy and blessed with the ones I have, but that “just one more baby” would have been spectacular.
Awwww, I’m such a sucker for puppy breath. They are just precious, Jen. Give them a kiss for me.
Aw, I want one! They are adorable. My kids have been begging for a dog for years…. maybe one day when we stop having babies we can get a dog!
Toni
We have a Lab, and love her! Oh, what sweet puppies!
Now you need yellow chicks! … hee hee! Congrats on the newbies:) I’ll take one after they’re trained and calm… I love dogs but man, this 6 kiddos have kept me from jumping into dog ownership again. You’re amazing. I KNOW how much work having puppies around is! Take care friend.
Oh. My. Goodness. Those are some sweet babies!
I have been through so many ups and downs with thinking I’m prego, finding out I’m not, wanting to be, not wanting to be, etc, etc. I’m done. Too much emotional upheaval.
They are adorable. I’m waiting on a blessed addition of my own in the form of Cocker Spaniels. My birthday present from several years back is expecting. Zoe is expecting any day now.
Ah, does the baby itch ever go away…but for just one more! and then one more and then … Your puppies are darling. I love puppies too! That me on my sidebar as a tiny wee lass holding puppies! hugs to you…rachel
Greetings Jen!
It was so good to meet you at NCHE! And I regret it was so brief.
I don't think the baby itch ever goes away, I still have it! And right before NCHE, I was in the same frame of mind as you were for 2 weeks, but it simply wasn't His will.
Are you selling your puppies or giving them?! I know the latter isn't likely, but I couldn't resist asking!
Blessings all over you and the ministries you lead with such passion!
