Watch this today, and then come back next post to read one of the very first letters that my husband ever wrote to our oldest daughter before their “Dates with Daddy” evening.
You see, I can keep a blog post short…
but it’s oh, so hard…you won’t want to miss this.
Grab some Kleenex and take a walk down memory lane,
or prepare yourself for that “some day” to come.
This is just a short “storybook” that shares the power of traditions with a father and his little girl.
If this strikes a cord in your heart, we’ll ponder the beauty of a new legacy, even if the past hasn’t been what you’ve desired.

“In the early morning a father watches as a busy house
prepares for his daughter’s big day…
but is he ready to say goodbye?”
So beautiful!
jen, i am the worst friend EVER.
hate me. I have still put off answering that one email because I don’t even know what I think about it! All I know is you are fantastic and I love you!
At least you warned us about needing the Kleenex. That was beautiful!
I was teary by the first second. My dad took me on dates when I was younger and they truly are some of my favorite childhood memories. Thanks for sharing, Jen!
How sweet….I loved it!

The powerful affect a loving, caring father has on the life of his daughter…
A foundation of strength, value and confidence…
The absence having an equally powerful affect… leaving a legacy of insecurity, fear or worse – which is difficult to overcome.
May our husbands lead our next generation of daughters… and may we, as their wives, lift them up and support them in this calling.
Blessings on Greg and your precious girls!
Oh man. I have a little girl and I just don’t know if I can handle it. Is there enough kleenex in my house? I love Daddy/Daughter dates!

Did you have to get me all vaclemped right before bed? I think about when my son leaves the roost…he still claims he wont…but alas…we know that will change…that was beautiful Jen! cherry
Steven Curtis Chapman’s oldest daughter, Emily, is getting married this weekend. I just sent it to him (via an insider friend)and hope he gets to see it! The opening actually looks like him at the desk.
Feeling VERY old…….:)
Of course – feel free to use my comment :)… and the link would be cool too! My BLOG seems pretty quiet, so a little stimulus would be refreshing.
BTW – my Take the Helmet post – was done only at home… it will probably show up in a later class though :). Perhaps the next time we work on the imperative purpose (like week #7).
BEAUTIFUL! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
* can u please stop by my blog? There’s something there waiting for you to pick up.

How sweet!! I think father/daughter dates are the best! You make such a great bond! Thanks for stopping by via BATW today!
Thanks Jen for posting this. My husband prayed for a little girl and he has one that loves her daddy with all her heart. My husbands only hope is that our daughter will always want to sit on her daddy’s lap. She is seven now and watching her grow is so bittersweet.
I loved this video and want to show hubby when he gets home. He will not like you after I show him, though, because it will bring tears to his eyes.
