Sing it with me, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”
I know, I know, it’s not Christmas yet, so you may hear that from me a few more times, but I just love the fall.
Fall weather, breathtaking color, mountain love in NC, FOOTBALL, and all things apple and PUMPKIN!!!! (And soup and crock pot meals and hot cider and…).
I could go on and on, but I think you get the gist.
With all the pumpkin recipes that I plan on whipping up in the next few months, Pumpkin Pie Spice is a necessity. Of course, you can purchase it ready made and I’ve done that, but why buy it when the source themselves has given us their recipe?
It’s much less expensive, and depending on the brand, we are guaranteed that is a completely all natural blend.
You can use this blend any time Pumpkin Pie Spice is called for, plus add it into any of your fall baking to elevate those flavors to the next level.
This is a base recipe, but once you’ve made it, adjust it to your flavor preference. If you enjoy extra cinnamon, add more. If you’re not a fan of all spice, just reduce the amount. Some like cloves. All spice is similar to cloves, but if you love that flavor base, just add a teaspoon of cloves.
Can you tell that I am all about flexibility in a recipe?
If you need a few easy Pumpkin Ideas? Here are some of my favorites.
