Are you ready for the start of our BIG MOTHER’S DAY EXTRAVAGANZA?
All day long, free giveaways will be happening here which you will NOT want to miss.
Check back throughout the day with those fingers ready to enter…a lot!
I was privileged to be “spotted” this week by 1-800-Flowers.com during their 2nd Annual “Spot a Mom” campaign, a project with the goal of making sure none of the 82.5 million moms in the U.S. get left behind. 1-800-FLOWERS knows that every mom is unique and deserves to be recognized and appreciated.
Courtesy of 1-800-Flowers, I would like to give one of my readers a 1-800-Flowers.com $75 gift certificate, as well as copy of the book, Celebrating Mom, real-life accounts of motherhood by 1-800-Flowers.com’s CEO, Jim McCann. It won’t be in time for Mother’s Day since this giveaway is open through the weekend, but don’t worry, if you haven’t ordered something for mom yet there is same day delivery available at 1-800-Flowers.com!
There are four ways that you may enter, and you may choose all four for the best chance of winning. Each entry must be a separate comment.
- Leave a comment letting me know your favorite Mother’s Day present (for moms) or a present that you gave for Mother’s Day.
- Subscribe to this blog by clicking below and leave a comment telling me you’ve done so.
- Follow me on Twitter @beautyandbedlam or join my blogfrog community, and let me know you did in the comments.

Just enter “SPOTAMOM” when it asks for the coupon code.
My favorite Mother’s Day present of all time is my new 8 week old kitten. I got her as an early Mother’s Day present, and I love that she brings our whole family together when we play with her and take care of her!
The best present I received was giving birth 16 yrs. ago 3 days before Mother’s Day.
My favorite Mother’s Day gift(s) occurred one year, when we took our boat to the lake on the Saturday before. We skiied, ate, even had dessert; then the kids gave me presents. The BEST present was when they gave an impromptu concert, singing & dancing on the dock to whatever music was playing. Get this – 2 of my kids were adolescent boys at the time, so for them to do this was MAJOR!

With 2 young kids, I love giving framed pictures of my little ones for Mother’s Day gifts.
This will be only MY second mother’s day… but I used to love my mothers eyes when she would get something handmade, so I can’t wait for that.
I love giving photo books with pictures of the grandkids. They seem to love it, too!

Best mother’s day gift? When my kids decide to do something special, like breakfast in bed or cleaning up without being asked.
My first Mother’s Day was last year and my husband and 11 mo old daughter drew me pictures…so fun!

My favorite Mother’s Day is a re-occuring gift. Every year the kids purchase a flower for our family to plant …last year it was a rose bush and the year before some weird-looking green plant thing; no matter the plant, I love to see it bloom each year.
I like the homemade gifts the kids make. My son made me a cute little hand flower in a painted mini terra cotta pot in preschool. I still have it!!!

For Mother’s Day years ago, before I was a mom, I gave a beautiful elderly woman I was caring for some framed photos of her kids that I had blown up and retouched. As soon as she opened them, she began to cry! I didn’t expect that at all, but it was so amazing to see how something so simple could make her so happy.
Now, as a mom, I understand. 🙂

One of my favorite Mother’s Day gifts was in the form of coupons. I know it sounds a little cheesy, but my husband really put in a lot of thought trying to make it personal and full of “gifts” I would really appreciate (i.e. a weekend of him NOT playing video games. LOL!). It was very sweet!
My favorite MD gift – slowing down and playing in the garden – that means my kids pick up the “to do list” for the weekend!
I “like” you on FB too!!!

Rose bushes. The gift that keeps on giving.
One of my favorite gifts was a picture craft my daughter did in first grade – she was sick and didn’t want to have her picture taken for the craft, but the teacher told her it was for a present for Mother’s Day, so she did it. She looked pitiful – all puffy eyed and flushed -and she told me she it wasn’t good but she wanted to make something for me. I cried, and I still have it 10 years later (and crying again thinking about it).
My favorite mother’s day gift I received was a picture that my daughter and husband drew of themselves.

My favorite was actually a Viking cooking class, which I have not even been able to use yet due to giving birth, etc.!
My son went to my late grandmother’s house and dug up a start of her lilac bush. The one I had planted died after 15 years. And I was so upset. I always picked the lilacs off that same bush for her every spring. It was so sweet and perfect for me.
My favorite gift was a silver heart necklace on my first Mother’s Day.
I “like” you on FB. 🙂 And in real life. Tho’ we’ve never met.
I’ve only had 4 Mother’s Day’s myself so far. My favorite present…I think the morning my husband snuck out of the house and came back with Starbucks coffee and scone for me along with cards “from” the kids. 🙂
My favorite present is going out to eat at a fancy restaurant with my hubby and kids!

My favorite Mothers Day present was something that my daughters handmade me. It is a poem about being a great Mom and then a hand print from each of them with their own writing. Both are framed and will aways be a treasure for me.
Happy Mothers Day!

My favorite Mother’s Day gift is having the day to do whatever I choose.
When my family asks what I want for Mother’s Day it’s vegging and relaxing all day long. But, I always love being surrounded by my family.
The best gifts are the ones that don’t cost money. Like the time my husband brought home a large mason jar full of wild flowers he picked on the side of the road.
A free spa day I’ll take any day!!
Happy Mother’s Day to all!!!
I love the little notes my kids wrote in pre school a few years ago.
Favorite gift for Mothers’ Day? KitchenAid mixer. Definitely.
My favorite Mother’s Day gift came from my then 4 year old son (he’s now 16). It was the first Mother’s Day after the birth of my 2nd child and my best friend/Mom’s death. I tried to be upbeat and enjoy the company of my young children but was so overwhelmed with missing my own mother. My son walked up to me with hands behind his back. He said, “I have a present for you.” He held out empty hands. I replied, “Can you help me open it?” He said, “Why Mommy can’t you see – it’s a card for you to read. ” With further prompting he said, “It’s a message from Grandmommy in heaven to tell you that you’re a good Mommy and she misses you.”
My favorite mother’s day gift is actually this year. My daughter doesn’t know I picked it out, she thinks she and Daddy picked it out. I am finally getting my KitchenAid mixer and I can’t wait to make all sorts of yummy treats with it!
My favorite present I received was a Mother’s Day/Anniversary combo…my sweet husband gave me a pair of diamond earrings. It was such a total surprise and whenever I wear them I think about that first year of motherhood and what a sweet husband I have.

Thinking back to when my kids were younger in preschool and kindergarden, I loved the mothers day tea they would have and how excited the kids were to have the moms come and enjoy a day at school with them. Now that they are older, I love when they make me breakfast in bed 🙂

The best present that I have given to my mom and mother in law were personalized photo books with pictures of my girls. I made them on snapfish, and they were perfect.
I think the best Mother’s Day gift is getting to spend the day relaxing with my family. It also doesn’t hurt to not have to cook/clean for the day.
I don’t know if I have a favorite gift but what I enjoy is their anxiousness at getting the best gift and make the perfect card and their happiness as they watch me open them. All the excited planning is pretty neat to me:)
My favorite gift is flowers! They are so beautiful!

She used to love getting them at Target, but lately I can’t find them anymore. I’m also going to pick up some flowers for her because frankly, what woman doesn’t love recieving flowers? 🙂
I haven’t figured out what to do for my mother in law yet….maybe a cute potted plant? I’m on this gardening kick right now.

My favorite mother’s day gift is thanks. I think that making moms feel important and us being thankful for what they do is the most important thing 🙂
My favorite gift would be having my son cook my favorite dinner; charbroiled hamburger with bacon & cheese & fries on the side which he is doing this Mother’s Day. Sure would love some flowers though those are outstanding! Wow, wish I could ever be picked as a spotlight mom sounds really fun. bgary18ATsbcglobal.net

I would love to get a personalized necklace with my children’s names or birth stones. I usually give my mother a plant, as she has a green thumb.
I used to HATE Mother’s Day – years of infertility made me sad and left out on Mother’s Day and every year, as the pastor’s wife I was involved in organizing and implementing a Mother/Daughter tea or banquet that just broke my heart because my own Mum was far away and my arms were still aching for a child of our own. God has brought me full circle – I am still far away from my own sweet Mum, but my heart is full as I enjoy the two blessing God has filled my life with – one through adoption, and one through amazing grace! My heart is always tender for those who have lost their mothers, like my husband, those who have lost their children, and those who hearts long to blessed with the joys of parenthood, but are still waiting.

My favorite Mother’s Day gift…it sounds silly, but a few years ago I asked for a kitchen scale. My hubby will tell you he thought for sure that it would sit in a cupboard and never be used, but out of his love for me 🙂 got it for me anyway. Well, I will tell you I use it nearly EVERY day and not sure how I got along in the kitchen without it! 🙂

Ohmygosh, WONDERFUL giveaway! I was just thinking of sending my wonderful Mom some flowers for Mother’s Day, as she lives across the country and I miss her all the time, especially on Mother’s Day. 🙁 I think that sending flowers is a wonderful way to let someone know that they’re loved very much and that you wish with all your heart you could be there with them on that special day.
I had subscribed awhile ago… does that count too? 🙂

Hi, again! Are you tired of seeing my name today? I’ve just signed up on Facebook (sorry I hadn’t done it before) and have left comments here and there. My favorite Mother’s Day presents … when my children were young and without any money to call their own, they would collect wildflowers and put them together for me; or, when my daughter, fresh out of ‘penmanship’ class, wrote the Ten Commandments in her wobbly script, put it in an old frame we had and wrapped it in her own decorated newsprint … Even though she is 17 yrs old now, I still have that frame by my bedside!
My favorite has to be one from God. My daughter was born on Mother’s Day 16 years ago. Her middle name is Alexis which means helper. She has grown into the most wonderful helper a mom could ask for. My prayer is that she grows into being her husband’s greatest helper.
My favourite mom day gift has always been “Good Kids”!
Favorite present I gave my mom is a book about mothers and daughters that I personalized.
I really like it when my kids put some time and effort and thought into preparing a meal for me, and then cleaning up afterwards. In general, I like that more than I like actual gifts. 🙂
