From the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked banana bread,to the soothing sips of a simmering beverage,
the kitchen is the heart and home of our fondest memories.
As a frugal mom, it’s a temptation to create a“don’t touch, that’s expensive”
environment.
Instead, create a haven that whispers,“You are my special treasure, and all that I have is yours.”
Almost daily, when my girls ask for something to drink,
they pick one of my special cups.
I take this mundane moment to remind them of the true treasure they are
simply because…
they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
And this ordinary moment
becomes extraordinary.
They don’t know it now,
but they will…

And just so I don’t lead you astray as to the pristine, prim and proper bonnet wearing (learning how to stick out her pinky finger when she’s drinking) cherub that I am raising….

So adorable! My sis in law has huge and amazing tea parties…some times smaller and more intimate but they are so fun. I am going to have a ‘witches tea’ this October and we will all be required to dress up like witches and drink tea, eat soup out of pumpkins and read poetry and exchange gifts. I can’t wait for Sophia to get older!!

I try to fill my home with beautiful things I find at yard sales and thrift shops, and I’m not afraid to use the delicate things everyday. My daughters each have their favorite teacup and we share a cuppa almost every night together.

I think I had one of those "moments" last year, when I realized I need to bring out the "pretties" to both be seen & used! Don't wait for tomorrow!
Love it! My kids also love drinking out of tea cups! And sometimes I even go for the real thing (almost), decaf tea sweetened with Splenda, and they really feel like they are at a tea party. ha

Those bonnets are adorable! I have some beautiful wedgewood tea cups in the cabinet just waiting for a tea party. This is just one reason among many that I hope we adopt a little girl.

My daughter just recently doing tea parties with my grandausghters (ages 5&3). The absolute most special part of the event is the beautiful heirloom china tea cups they use that were passed down from their great aunt. It's so perfect because the beautiful tea cups were just collecting dust until my daughter started the little tradition with them. Such wonderful memories! Great post. Thanks!

Great idea! We actually “ate a rainbow” today after the dreary days we have had recently. You should have seen Carson’s face when I suggested it. We had a yummy bowl of rainbow sherbet and thought of God’s promise to us.
