to the soothing sips of a simmering beverage,
the kitchen is the heart and home of our fondest memories.
“don’t touch, that’s expensive”
environment.
“You are my special treasure, and all that I have is yours.”
Almost daily, when my girls ask for something to drink,
they pick one of my special cups.
I take this mundane moment to remind them of the true treasure they are
simply because…
they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
And this ordinary moment
becomes extraordinary.
They don’t know it now,
but they will…
What are you going to do today to change the mundane to the marvelous?

And just so I don’t lead you astray as to the pristine, prim and proper bonnet wearing (learning how to stick out her pinky finger when she’s drinking) cherub that I am raising….
And I do believe that these pics were taken first thing in the morn
and that was orange juice in those tea cups. 🙂
This is all part of our Beautiful Life (brought by the Inspired Room).
So adorable! My sis in law has huge and amazing tea parties…some times smaller and more intimate but they are so fun. I am going to have a ‘witches tea’ this October and we will all be required to dress up like witches and drink tea, eat soup out of pumpkins and read poetry and exchange gifts. I can’t wait for Sophia to get older!!
Awww, she’s a doll…and you’re a great mom!!!
Suzanne
Great Mom, great doughter 🙂
Thanks Jen for your comment on my blog, it is an honor that you read it…thank you again. http://www.zcouple.com
She’s a cutie!
I don’t always comment, but I love to read your blog!
Sweet.
Great pictures! She is adorable!
Your daughter is so cute and I love the tea party.
She has your panache!!!
Cynthia
I’m so glad I stumbled on your blog. I, too, am a lover of all things “tea” and have passed on the passion to my younger daughters. I try to fill my home with beautiful things I find at yard sales and thrift shops, and I’m not afraid to use the delicate things everyday. My daughters each have their favorite teacup and we share a cuppa almost every night together.

I think I had one of those "moments" last year, when I realized I need to bring out the "pretties" to both be seen & used! Don't wait for tomorrow!
Love it! My kids also love drinking out of tea cups! And sometimes I even go for the real thing (almost), decaf tea sweetened with Splenda, and they really feel like they are at a tea party. ha
That’s precious!
How sweet! I’m planning a tea party for my 3 year old and her friends and have been debating letting them use the “real” stuff. I think I’m going to now!
Your little Sunbonnet Sue is precious! What fun!
what a wonderful idea!!
You’re talking tea- right up my alley! I think we need to plan to have a tea party at NCHE!
That little bonnet “lady” is so cute and quite the little model.
How cute!!! What special memories she’ll have :)!
Love the bonnet!
I’ve always want to have a tea party! 🙂
Laura
She is so cute! Adorable pictures!
Love the pictures and the message! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. This was an inspiring way to remind us all of what the real treasures are in life.
So precious…Wishing I had a little girl to do this with…=)
Those bonnets are adorable! I have some beautiful wedgewood tea cups in the cabinet just waiting for a tea party. This is just one reason among many that I hope we adopt a little girl.
(visiting from WFMW!)
So cute! It’s important to make every day special in some way.
I decided that we would eat angel food cake with fresh berries FOR dinner tonight instead of dessert. That elevates the mundane, right :)?!
How sweet and inspiring. I must do the same with my lovely little girl I think. Thank you 🙂
I used to have a bonnet like that when I was a little girl! Mine was red and white. She looks SO much like you in that last photo. 🙂 Kelly
Hey Jen – thanks for the advice about buying tea set items at Goodwill. I’m going there tomorrow (to drop off 3 sacks full of stuff!!!) so I’ll check it out! Thanks!
My daughter just recently doing tea parties with my grandausghters (ages 5&3). The absolute most special part of the event is the beautiful heirloom china tea cups they use that were passed down from their great aunt. It's so perfect because the beautiful tea cups were just collecting dust until my daughter started the little tradition with them. Such wonderful memories! Great post. Thanks!
I love that you encourage sharing all your trinkets..it’s that kind of attitude that more moms need to learn..”and we often wonder why won’t my kids share?!”..serioulsy great advice!
Cutie pie.
Thanks for inspiring me to dust off the china.
Great idea! We actually “ate a rainbow” today after the dreary days we have had recently. You should have seen Carson’s face when I suggested it. We had a yummy bowl of rainbow sherbet and thought of God’s promise to us.
VEry sweet. I like this post. great reminder to take those tea cups down, dust them up and have make some memories beside decor!
This is a fabulous post! It’s easy to forget these simple things. Our children are treasures indeed……
How fun. Recently, our teenager was asking me about having a tea time.
Too cute for words-
Thanks for sharing-
Happy Day
