A Sunday Moment of Worship
As I spend October contemplating balancing beauty and the budget, over and over, I am overwhelmed at His free gift of grace. Yes, completely free! I would be remiss to go an entire month talking about “savings” if I didn’t mention my He who saved me.
Last Sunday, I had the privilege of leading in a sweet time of worship through music. A time when my entire spirit was re-prioritized to the reason I am here.
The full choir, band and orchestra began with the words that represent our church’s theme this month – “We will declare your name. And we will tell the world there is no other…”
Then our praise team joined in with “HE is My Shelter, My Comforter, My Deliverer.” Life is challenging and often, situations arise that seem to offer no answers, but there is Hope. Those words continually meet me right where I am at on a regular basis.
The fourth song, In Christ Alone, is one that will be sung at my funeral. (Yes, I want to make sure it’s documented and I have already informed Barry, my friend leading this, that he is singing). As you read your daily blogs, if you can only listen to one song, scroll ahead and let the words of this one resonate on your heart.
Due to the mix of the music, the worship experience doesn’t translate through the video of it, but for me, as a musician, music tears down barriers and I see just a glimpse of what heaven will like.
I barely made it through this set without weeping at what a free gift we have been given.
It’s ours to receive.
