This weekend was packed full of summer activities, celebrations and “on the go” speed dressing.

Time flew during my weekly Saturday morning treasure hunting and I knew that I was pushing our schedule. Assuming I had ten minutes to spare once I walked through the door, my husband declared, “We need to be in the van now.”

“What? Huh? I thought I had ten minutes to get ready.”

“Nope now.”

When your husband has “that look,” you know there is no time to hunt through the closet for the perfect outfit.

I looked down at my black T-shirt. I then eyes my new skirt still laying on the couch, (SHHH, it’s supposed to be put away, I know) and I knew that by swapping out the shorts for the skirt, dressing up the plain black shirt with some accessories and adding my fabulous “new to me” $4 Leather wedges, I would be good to go.

Weren’t those wedges the best find ever? I’ve been hunting for a maxi skirt and now that I have one, I think I need four more. They go with everything and are so easy to dress up or down. In my opinion, they are speed dressing at its finest while covering a multitude of “sins.”

In my last Frugal Fashionista post, I shared about Vaseline’s new Spray and Go Moisturizer plus the new Max the Mornings page offering great tips and ideas for early morning routines.

I live in skirts and dresses throughout the summer and it’s definitely a favorite new product since it’s not too sticky or greasy, goes on in seconds and absorbs just as quickly. It’s perfect to use when I am in a rush like I was (again) getting ready yesterday morning.

I definitely purchased outside my comfort zone on this dress, but I am so glad I did.  It’s just different and fun and for $5, I can take chances. Without the belt, it looked like a huge bag and is a bit big on top.  I wasn’t sure if I should take the chance, but with my belt, it pulls it all together. And yes, those barely worn leather Goodwill Shoes are Steve Madden and I scored them for just $4.

As I’ve said before, I love being able to get ready and out the door quickly, but I have nothing on the dancer that did the commercials for this new Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer campaign. No, it has nothing to do with a Frugal Fashionista outfit, but watching those commercials, I just thought it might be fun to read and watch a little behind the scenes footage. It’s quite impressive.

They hired Emma, a dancer from London, who trained as an acrobat as a child and then switched to modern dance.
After working with a choreographer for a week before the shoot, they attempted 25 speed dressing tricks, and Emma could do all but one (skipping into a pair of pants).

They then chose the best tricks and made different routines based on outfits. Her hardest trick was pulling on tights while doing a back somersault across a bed, and her surprisingly easy trick included a back walkover into a pair of heels (well, easy for Emma. my back doesn’t even bend that way anymore.

The only “cheat” the production team did was they magnetized the buttons.

Isn’t that so fun?
