Are you new to my Frugal Fashionista series? Find out how I dress for less with designer outfits for mere pennies on the dollar. Yes, all outfits from head to toe are less than $15, and did I mention…second hand?)
I have had the privilege of spending a few days at Nashville’s Opryland Hotel this week for a blogging conference. I can’t tell you how fun it’s been to connect with some of my most special friends (who live in my computer.) Another highlight has been the number of bloggers who have shown me their Frugal Fashionista outfits, or have shared that they first entered a Goodwill because of my encouragement. I just LOVE that, and one of the reasons why today is your day.
Last week, I asked those of you who did not have a blog but still wanted to participate to send me your photos. Many of you did and I have decided to give you a day all to yourself. (And because I didn’t have the time during the conference to download all the pictures. :)). So, if have been meaning to send me your pictures and descriptions, please do. I will include them all in a separate post.
Since this post is all about your outfits today, I am only sharing one outfit, and it’s in real time, as in, this is what I am wearing right now as I type. (Nothing like planning ahead.)
If it were spring and I was still doing the 30 Day Shred, I would wear this sleeveless shirt and boast about the whopping $2.50 I spent on the whole outfit. Both the shirt and the Anne Klein jeans were complete $1 treasure scores at a yard sale, with the necklace racking up two whole quarters. BUT, since I am all about full disclosure, the gray second hand cardigan that I planned on wearing must be in a heap on my bedroom floor – 7 1/2 hours away, which left me a wee bit chilly. So, my $2.50 outfit “skyrocketed” to $17.50 with the addition of my $14.99 TJ Maxx find. Remember when I was on the hunt for an asymmetrical sweater? Well, this was the one I decided on, and it has served me well this winter, but it broke my personal $15 limit. Oh well, sometimes we all need to just live it up a little and “splurge.” 😉
I can’t wait to see what you all have to share. Come link up and inspire us all. The link will be open for a few days, so you have time today to gather some outfits and share.
I do have some guidelines you need to follow if you are linking up. Each post needs to adhere to the few requests below or the posts will be deleted.
- Remember, I love awesome deals from the store, but at least part of your main wardrobe pieces need to be second hand/thrifted in order to link up.
- Just link up one post and link directly to your Frugal Fashionista post, not your home page URL. This will let everyone find your FF post months from now.
- Please mention our Frugal Fashionista Fashion Show and link back to my blog url in your post so that every one can join in on the frugal fun.
Love, love, love that blouse!!! I went to Goodwill Wednesday and picked up a new pair of “mary jane” style Naturalizers for $4! I was so thrilled!
I scored last week at Salvation Army in the Shoe department too- Very cute black heals and black ballet flats with a black embellished flower on the toe!
Thanks Jen for your ideas and inspiration!
You look gorgeous–what a beautiful blouse!
I did the happy dance at the Salvation Army yesterday. I found a pair of exercise tights by Title Nine (at least a $60 item)–they look brand new–and also a slim denim skirt from the Gap that fits me just right. Nice summer shirt for my husband. And a NWT set of cloth napkins and several books.
Total price tag? $15! 🙂
HOW are you so lucky to find great jeans THAT FIT YOU at garage sales?!?!? I take armloads of jeans into the fitting room at Goodwill and more often than not, end up putting them all back….frustrating.
Thanks for hosting this Jen and THANK YOU to all of you ladies who participated! I love to show that we can look good without spending a fortune! Hope you all enjoyed my baby bump. 😉
I linked up! I have been posting clothing steals on my blog and was thrilled to find yours where you have a whole “day” dedicated to it! Such a great idea! Thanks for the opportunity to link up!
PS. I’m originally from NC! Hope Mills 🙂
Oh I forgot to add, I love that ruffled shirt and those dark denims! Makes a great night on the town outfit with some strappy stilettos!
This is a beautiful blouse!! And the necklace ain’t too bad either. 🙂 Happy Friday–you look great!!
This outfit I truly love! The dark denims look tailored and slimming. The blouse is a lovely color and the v neck is also very good. The ruffle attracts your eye up to your face (which looks great 🙂 and your hair looks great in this photo also. I love the simple but statement quality piece of the necklace. Pretty but not overdone. And the black “swingy” is great. Perfection!
One of the best of your cheap sheik creations yet. A good one for many of us to copy in our own way. Would look great on many different body types.
I love your outfit and the whole concept of second hand shopping you are spotlighting on your blog. I work with several people who are so deep in debt, but wouldn’t dare try to shop second hand. I’m not in dept, because I’m not afraid to take advantage of a great sale.
Thanks for hosting this! It has been so much fun! I love your outfit! It’s lovely and so classy 🙂
Hopefully I will be able to participate next time. This odd-size mama was unable to find any good maternity basics by thrifting. 🙁 I’m still pleased with my finds, even though I had to buy them new, but I’m not wearing much secondhand at the moment. I am looking forward to checking out everyone else’s entries – and adding my own next time, when I’m wearing regular clothes again!
I’m new to the blogging world and am looking forward to taking part in these link up’s!!!
