As I read one astonishing email right before Thanksgiving, I literally started screeching. My kids came running. My husband wondered if I was alright, and I could barely catch my breath.
Well, my breath is back, and I am ready to exhale while I “test drive” a house full of new stainless steel appliances.
I will be working with Frigidaire as a part of their “Super Influencer” blogging team and will receive a new refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer. I know, I know, I still can’t believe it either. I’ve never owned a stainless steel appliance in my life, nor did I think I’ve ever get one. Now, I just need to find a vacuum that actually picks up our pets’ hair and my domestic life would be bliss. 🙂
In 2009, Frigidaire introduced new appliances all designed with the idea of creating more time for Moms. Standing behind its claim, Frigidaire offers a “More Me-Time Guarantee.” Moms will save a minimum of eight hours a month or their money back. I will honestly put that to the test. I sat around the table last night with my family asking, “How can these appliance honestly save me time.” Well, with five children, I need all the time I can get, so I can’t wait to find out and share my opinions.
Along the way, I will be chronicling my journey as part of my “Family Manager 101…on our way to a MBA in Family Management” series. It’s going to be lots of fun, and I’m going to dive into some home making issues (and learn along with you.)
(No, this is not my kitchen, but wow, isn’t it beautiful?)
You have a chance to win some fabulous prizes from Frigidaire as well, all while helping raise money for Save the Children?
Frigidaire has teamed up with Jennifer Garner on Spin & Win, an online contest where you could win your own washer/dryer from Frigidaire. And every day that you spin the wheel, Frigidaire will donate $1 to Save the Children! So bookmark the Make Time for Change site – there’s a winner every day.
Thanks for letting me share my exciting news for Tasty Tuesday. I figured since that oven will be a big part of my Tasty Tuesday cooking experience, there’s no one I’d like to tell more than you ladies.
“I wrote this while participating in a Test Drive Campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Frigidaire and will receive a Frigidaire Refrigerator, Range/Microwave, Washer/Dryer set, and a Dishwasher to facilitate my review.”
I can’t wait to hear what you have cooking for Tasty Tuesday. Please, please, please link to your TT post and not your blog home page. Remember to link back here so that everyone can join the fun.
Woo Hoo! Congratulations, girl! I’m so excited for you!
That is so cool Jen! I was just telling my husband about that the other day, and he said “you have to find out how she did that.” 🙂
Thanks for hosting!

Wow, wow, wow!!!!!!!! Thats amazing Jen!!!! Congrats on your new kitchen!!
That’s so exciting. No one can say your blog has not paid you for all of your time and efforts! 🙂 Enjoy over and over again ….
Wow! That really ranks up there among blogging perks! So exciting, Jen, and I can’t wait to read all about your expriences with your new appliances.
What fun!- Getting free appliances? You are the queen of freebies, Jen!
I just hopped over to Frigidaire and took a quick spin- nice that it helps out a charity, too!
BTW, I grew up in school with Jennifer Garner in Charleston, WV. Our dads worked for the same company. She is yet another fabulous Jen!
JEN! What wonderful news! I’m so glad for you!! And I know that you’re trustworthy to give them a real review of their products. They chose wisely when they chose you. Congratulations!!
Wow…that is AWESOME!!! I’m so glad you were chosen…they picked a wonderful blogger to test-drive! 😉
Congratulations Jen! That’s awesome!
Can’t wait to read your reviews. We’re actually looking to replace our broken stainless steel LG dishwasher. I’ll have to give Frigidaire a look.
Dyson Dyson Dyson! That will pick up pet hair.
As the Mom of six w/ two dogs and a cat…..my one word for you is DYSON ANIMAL!!!! Never thought I’d spend that much on a vacuum – but it’s worth every penny. And you never have to buy bags again. And – my other piece of advice – keep your old washer/dryer too if you can – it will save you time because you can do two loads at once. Having a second set has changed my life.
Congratulations!! That’s amazing!
As far as the vacuum cleaner goes, I already said this via Twitter the other day but a Dyson would do wonders for you. 🙂 I have heard good things about the Eureka Boss & Hoover Windtunnel, though. I recall a few (okay..five) years ago, when I was looking for a new vacuum cleaner, the Boss & Windtunnel were both ranked as high, if not higher than, the Dyson.
Over five years of massive amounts of dog hair and kid messes, and my Dyson is still going strong!
A friend told be about this site, and since I just started blogging, the news about such a blessing with the appliances is definitely motivating. Congrats and I look forward to hearing about your experience.

Wow, Jen, congrats!!! I’m curious to see how new appliances can save time. 🙂
We recently replaced our 1985 dishwasher with an Energy Star model and one load on light wash takes over 2 hours to complete, even with the heated dry option turned off! I like saving energy and this isn’t a problem for me, but was quite surprising! Maybe yours will be better!
SO happy for you!!! You are the queen of freebies!!! And I second the recommendations on Dyson! The entire vacuum comes apart (so it can never be clogged), and easily goes back together again. It is an engineering marvel. LOVE mine! Blessings!!!
Wow I would have squealed too, how awesome is that. I hope you really enjoy them.
Eeeek!! I’m screeching for you!! This is SO exciting! I’m totally going to be living vicariously through you for a while. This couldn’t have happened to a better person!!
Yay!!! SO excited for you!!! Can’t wait to hear what you think of everything!
Wow, CONGRATULATIONS!!! (So, I guess you get to keep them?) 😉
Congratulations on your new kitchen appliances 🙂
Blessings!
Gail
I think my response would have been the same! I want to hear what you think of them. We made the mistake of buying a bottom-of-the-line Frigidaire washer/dryer set for our family of 8. Both broke within the first year. I think it cost us $100 in laundromat change and damaged clothes before they were fixed. I dream of having appliances that can handle the load we put on them!
Woohooo! Wow, what an amazing blessing for you and your family. Congratulations!
I look forward to hearing if they really save you 8 hours a month.
Congratulations Jen–what incredible news!
My girls and I were reading all the team mates last week and they kept asking me “how, Mama, How!?”
And, thanks for finding me last week, I made my first Tasty Tuesday contribution today–and it was a ton of fun. I turned a traditional Arab dessert: ‘Awamee in English: Deep-fried sweet balls turned Deep-fried sweet Boobahs 😉
Congratulations! You will love the stainless appliances. I have replaced everything in my kitchen last summer with stainless except the stove. Maybe Fridgidaire will have an extra they can send my way! LOL
How cool! How’d ya get that gig? Have enough fun for the rest of us with your cool new appliances.
Wow, what a wonderful blessing for you and your family. We would all be lying, if us blogging moms didn’t admit we were a wee bit jealous. Seriously though, I bet you never imagined where your blogging would take you. How exciting. Enjoy the appliances. You have a great blog and community you have created, on your blog. You deserve this.
Oh, and when we bought our home, 6 years ago, all the appliance were Frigidaire stainless steel. We have NEVER had any problems. Enjoy!
I am ALL KINDS of green- even though I do have stainless steel…
Hooray for you, I want to know how I will save time in the kitchen, too.
That’s SOOOOOO AWESOME!!! I can’t even imagine how exciting that must be….I was nearly screeching just to have my first company contact me to do my first ‘real’ (i.e. company sponsored) giveaway of any sort! What a blessing!!
Congrats! And when you do find that perfect vacuum let me know. Vacuuming up German Shepherd hair is a challenge!
Congrats!! I can’t wait to read about the whole experience. I also can’t help but think that this is a huge blessing for your family. This last year my husband took a paycut, about 25%! It has presented plenty of challenges. We constantly ask ourselves what is and is not a necessity. When the water heater broke that qualified. But the dishwasher not so much. We repaired it ourselves a couple times and then bought a dish strainer! Now our fridge is being testy!!! So I really think that with your families circumstances all new appliances is a huge blessing! Enjoy!!
WOW! I can’t believe I missed this post! Congratulation, girlie! You deserve every single one of these things! Woo hoo!
