Our kitchen is filled with my heart.
It’s one of my favorite rooms and I strive to create an environment where people are drawn to linger.
Stimulating the senses are important to me and I know my children will have fond memories of deliciously baked meals and pleasing aromas, but even though I prepare food that tastes delicious, I do not create beautiful food.
You know the kind of food I am talking about…food that becomes an unbelievable art form.
That is one of my goals this year…to create beautiful food. Not all the time, but every once in awhile.
Just for my family.
Just because…
Don’t worry, I won’t be giving up my “Save Money by Cooking Creatively” concoctions, but you I’m hoping that I can actually mesmerize you a time or two during Tasty Tuesday.
Because beautiful food can be an art, can’t it?

Absolutely stunning! A picture is definitely worth a thousand words or bites in this case. 😀 Yum!
Hi Jen, just dropping by to say hi and check your post. The 5th picture is that a ravioli or a gnocchi? It looks like one. Anyway, these images you shared can really make someone tired super hungry! 🙂
The Hunt’s can as a centerpiece is a good idea.
What beautiful pictures! My cousin makes the most beautiful cakes, but the cake decorating gene seems to have passed me by – I hope most of my food is delicious, but I really can’t promise that it is all beautiful!! Once in a while I really get it right though, and things look just as wonderful as they taste – and that makes me very, very happy 🙂
Jen,
I don’t have any food to share, but I just want to say thanks for inspiring me to be more passionate about preparing food for my dear family. I’ll work harder on that.
My husband is that chef! He loves to cook and present food that’s beautiful. I’m the in-the-trenches-get-dinner-on-the-table one. I should try to make my everyday food look more appealing!
I must admit, I do not create beautiful food. I don’t even think about it–but maybe now I will!
It’s easy to make desserts look beautiful, because they usually just look SO yummy……but I’m not to good at making my dinners beautiful…….need to work on that!!
Thanks for the linky party every week !!

“Our kitchen is filled with my heart”
I love that. Best thing I have read today.
That dinner on the patio looks lovely! The kids are home for a show day today, and I can’t wait for warmer weather to be able to do that. Thanks for hosting Tasty Tuesday!
@Beth,
or rather a sNow day
I’m so excited, because I actually think that the dish I posted today IS a really beautiful dish. The colors and lines just make it very attractive in a “not a casserole” kind of way. 😉 I posted pictures … see if you agree.
I LOVE making beautiful food!
A simple way to make your food beautiful is to add a spring of fresh herbs to your meal. I grow lots of herbs, so it’s not an expensive addition at all! It looks really nice on soup, making a simple meal very pretty.
We don’t eat out.
But, we dish up food for each person before it comes to the table (easier with several small children; we can cut up their food ahead of time), often adding some herbs before it comes to the table.
I strive to have flowers on the table from our garden as often as possible. This year I even added more lilies to our garden so that I can have them to cut and bring to the table. Right now we have branches pruned from our fruit trees that I am forcing to bud.
First time I’ve linked up- I almost never cook…bake, yes. But that is completely different!
I love the pictures!! I believe that cooking is an art! Love the flowers in the Hunts can and could eat the cupcakes right off your post! It is all ver beautiful. Thanks!!
I try making beautiful food, but I think it’s harder than it looks, especially in pictures. I appreciate the gift of creativity that so many have. I just try to add lots of color in veggies or fruit but I’m working to improve. 🙂
My little 18 month old son is on my lap and excitedly exclaiming”cucay” which means cupcakes. What a stunning (and mouthwatering!) display. Beautiful food is definitely an expression of love!
I definitely wish I could make beautiful food, though mine is usually more practical. Do you have any tips on how to start making food beautiful? I would not even know where to start!
Pretty tablescapes. Thanks for hosting Tasty Tuesday.
Gorgeous table. You definitely have talent!
These are so inspirational! So glad to have one spot with so many great recipes too!
The Hunts can looks like it belongs, an elegant vase in disguise. Those photos are great. I have to work on making a more attractive table with more attractive food.
I am NOT that cook. Sometimes it doesn’t even taste good…
Like tonight.
my food is never beautiful! lol
LOVE the hunt’s sauce can as the centerpiece!!
oh, no, food is not that pretty around here. but it’s tasty, and always tastes better when our whole family is together.
love the pix – we have talented photographer friends, don’t we?
glad you’re back home safe and sound, was fun to catch up! (even tho short and sweet!) xo
