There’s nothing that blesses my mommy heart more than when my sons lavish gestures of love and compassion on each other.
Giving unselfishly, building the “others first” mentality, turning the other cheek – ah yes, I just adore when all those character traits come oozing out.
So when I see this ‘love tap,’ I’m convinced that all our life lessons are being implemented, right?
Wouldn’t you just covet one of their “five stars,” as they have so lovingly called it?
Because it’s all about unconditional love among teen brothers. 😉
P.S. The brother who left the love tap also took the picture. He was so proud of his handy work. It wasn’t till later that I thought…hmm…blog post. 😉
As the mom of 4 ( now grown boys) I thought I would share our # child rearing rule…
” if its within 10lbs…its a fair fight :)”
They will love each other forever!
Hi Jen! I have seen this same mark of affection from one of my 4 boys and 1 girl at some time or another on each other….so sweet. O.k. not a sarcastic person by nature, have learned to be. lol. I know how you like a great bargain and I knew I must share with you! I am having my first giveaway on my blog and it is FREE! It can’t get any better than that~just have to stop by leave a thought and can even enter up to 3 more ways! It is a very cute Whimsy Birdie Bag and a Yummy Cupcake Pincushion! I am a big fan and follower of your blog and always enjoy my visits here! Have a great time with all the sibling love going around in your house…I will be enjoying the same! 🙂
Hugs to you,
bonding, right????? Been there!!
hahahaha! Love it!
As a moom, I also feel honored when my kids ‘give’ each other this sort of ‘token’…makes me wonder if they will ever grow up…the night before my oldest son returned to base after his leave, the 3 oldest sat up in our loft…and had a belching contest…then the middle son (2 weeks post pacemaker replacement surgery) proceeded to belch the phonetic alphabet – alpha, brave, etc. He said that November sorta hurt…the 3 syllable ones did…then he had to go brush his teeth. Yeah, love that bonding…at least my daughter doesn’t compete with them any more on that level.
Ah my son is an only child and it warms my heart to see that he has bared the same mark on his back from some of his team-mates (who he does just love like brothers).
Must be a right of passage
My three youngest are boys, 5, 2 1/2 and 9 months. I don’t know if I’m up for the challenge, if that’s what’s in store! That just hurts to look at!
Teeth marks. And “pink bellies”. Seriously.
My boys? Same kind of thing. Then they actually chose to room together in college!
Mine are only 6 & 4, & already wrestle each other all the time.
Susie Q – LOL – that's a funny story!
Something else to look forward to! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Oh, my!! Boys sure can get rowdy, huh? I know my husband would love to have a boy someday (he is surrounded by estrogen here!)…bet he’d get a kick out of that picture!!!
Have you seen the Mother’s Day video with the 2 teenage boys? It is one of the funniest videos I have seen in a long time. I would like to send it to you if you haven’t seen it, but I don’t want to clog up your inbox if you already have. The love pat reminded me of it.
P.S. Oh by the way if you email me, I’ll send it to you. firstname.lastname@example.org
I don’t think they ever grow out of it 🙂
My husband and his friends show this type of affection to each other… they have this “game” to see who is more tolerable of pain.
My sons, however, haven’t yet gotten into that type of lovin’. They’re still sweet to each other, but they’re very young. My day will come!
Oh, boy. I’m there with you. I have two teen sons and four younger sons. This is my future for many years to come!
Oh, that’s hilarious! Teen boys are so fascinating 🙂
That looks painful. Boys!
It doesn’t get any better as they age. My 32 year old husband and his 30 year old brother still do this to each other. Usually it is to see who gets the biggest bruise!
Oh wow! I guess my kids aren't that different, although they would come to me crying (the oldest is only 9). There's been a few times where our oldest convinced our 8yo and 6yo to "eat the carpet." And on 3 different occasions, they did exactly that. and had the rug burn on their face to prove it!
oh yes, the mark of love!! new to your blog. love it, I'll be back for sure.
