Last Sunday, the third song in our praise package was A Might Fortress by Christy Nockels.
I could barely get through the verse at the end because the truth of these words rang so powerfully in my heart while I was singing.
Over and over my heart claimed, He is our mighty fortress. He is our sacred refuge. His kingdom is unshakeable and yet often, I get caught up in the busyness of life and forget to keep my eyes on Him.
What an amazing reminder that He never forgets me. He chases me with His kindness, His mercy, His wisdom and His freedom.
What a privilege to worship such an amazing God.

We have more in common than I realized! I’ve been lurking here for a while due to my love of being a frugal fashionista, but I just realized that you are a singer, too. And quite a lovely one!
I generally don’t like remakes of classic hymns, but I sang this with the praise band at my church last year and immediately fell in love with it. Gorgeous!
