“Imagine you walk through the door, look around, take it all in, and feel the tensions of the day start to roll off your shoulders in little waves.
You ask, “How did you find this place?” We look at each other, smile, pat the sofa and say, “Get comfy and we’ll share the secrets with you.””
Two friends had this dream – to create a place on line where women could come and just be themselves.
When they asked themselves what kind of place they were building, they finally came to see it as a bit like a beach house. You can put your sandy, dirty feet on the coffee table, laugh late into the night with friends, and also hear God’s voice clearer than perhaps anywhere else. Guess what? Their dream became a reality in the place called (in)courage, and I am blessed to share in that space every month. What’s more fun than that is they invited us to make it a real live adventure this weekend at a beach house in Hilton Head, SC. What a blessing the Hilton Head Chamber of Commerce has been by sharing this beautiful island with us as we dream about ways that we can make (in)courage a reality both on line and in real life.
This weekend coincides with the National Day of Encouragement. Spending time together is part of living out community—the focus of year two of the (in)courage website.
While not everyone was able to come, thirteen of us are enjoying this slice of God’s heaven:
