Today we’re putting a new twist on Tasty Tuesday, so read the WHOLE post before linking up. 🙂
My sweet, IRL friend, Emily introduced me to this new image linky that I thought I would try for a fun, new twist. It’s really easy, so have no fear.
But, I have two requests for this week.
- 1. So often as bloggers, we link up to carnivals, but then race off to our busy lives. I know, I know, I’ve completely done it myself, but have been convicted. I realize that we desire to share our posts/recipe with others and therefor gain traffic to our site, yet sometimes don’t take the extra minute to see what others are posting as well. So let’s do something fun and different this week to go along with my image linky twist. Let’s support our fellow Tasty Tuesday bloggers this week. If you are linking up, I ask that you just take a few minutes sometime in the next day or two to visit a few links ahead of you or behind you and show them some visit or comment love. The best thing about it is that it’s a win-win for all of you who link up. Just think, you might find your next favorite blog right underneath you.
- 2. Please link directly to your recipe post and not your blog URL. I want everyone in two months to be able to find the exact post in which you are referring. And because I love to offer Tasty Tuesday for you all to find new blogs and amazing recipes, please share that reciprocal courtesy by linking back here so that everyone can join in the fun. It’s as easy as just putting a little line at the bottom of your recipe. 🙂
So, let’s have some fun with our image linky and our stroll around blogland. Let me know what you think about it and if I should keep using it or just throw it in every once in awhile.
This is neat…, links with images!
I like the new linky, Jen!
LOVE the new linky! It makes me want to go visit EVERY one of the links! (Which I am off to do… Thanks for the reminder!)
I have been using the picture links at both Chocolate Obsession and Meatless Mondays on my blog and they are so much more interesting and eye catching then the plain links.
Great idea about making sure to contact others who have linked here.
Lookin good, girl!!!
@emily, ha – I obviously have no sense of word count when I choose the character ##, ah yes, I have edited that now, but it doesn’t fix the earlier links. 🙂 And you caught me before I had edited my post. You know me, publish, then edit….it now says, my sweet, IRL friend, Emily. 🙂
What a neat idea!! I like the pictures. Good plan!
what a lovely idea! I don’t have a blog, but maybe I’ll start one just so I can participate. Hmm wonder what i would say….
I love the image linky, it’s great for food posts.
Oh wow, I love the new links!! I was a bit worried at first, but it was so easy!! I love how the photos come up on the recipes – I’m looking forward to checking those yummy-looking links out. Thanks for hosting 🙂
I like the links with pictures!!!
I should have put the name of the recipe, not my own name. Sorry!
Jen, I’ve never done one of these before and I totally messed up my first submission – #60! I can’t click the delete button though because it is trapped behind your “blog frog” ad. If you have a chance could you delete it for me please? Thanks and sorry! 🙂
Jen, I think this is a great way to do TT. I understand what you mean about reading/linking/commenting. I host a Marriage Mondays, which is not huge like this, but I get a little discouraged when those who participate don’t leave a comment or “take a line” to mention the link in their post. I appreciate you hosting and would love any insights you discover to encourage people to link up and comment. And as the mother of a middle schooler, you’re my hero. 🙂
Awesome linky with pictures how cool! It makes it easy to scan for any recipes you might be interested in. Thanks.
I love this format! So Fun!!!
Great idea to have the links include pictures! I wish we could write more text, but oh well! I’m glad you are supporting having it actually be a “party” where people interact. I always make an effort to do that and am never sad that I did!
Love the linky with pictures, very cool!!
Thank you so much for adding the pictures, it really helps!!!
@rene’, I also want to add I love your 4 meals in 4 min. I’m linking back to you so friends can view your post and video.
I love the pictures with the links! They all look absolutely delicious 🙂 I’m off to find some great new recipes now 🙂
I couldn’t figure out how to grab your Tuesday button, but if you tell me how, I’ll happily add it to my post. I linked to you, just couldn’t find the code for the button.
Wow – the images are cool! Thanks for hosting. Have a blessed week!
Such a cool “linky”! And you are so right, the point of meme’s and carnivals is to find some cool new ideas! So, we should visit each other as much as we can and learn, learn, learn! 🙂
I love the pictures with the link! Definitely makes me want to check them all out! Thanks!
I shook my head and chuckled. Just this past weekend I started redecorating our blog and decided to go ahead and add a ‘profile’ picture, well, of sorts. We had never had one before, and I got creative with making one. But then I get here and face your new way of doing it. Figures ;-p The posting I linked up doesn’t have a picture in it, but there is a season appropriate picture on our blog, which aliens with the posting, so I chose that.
I really love the linky with images. What a wonderful idea!
I love the new Mr. Linky, I’m a visual kinda gal, love seeing all the images 🙂 I say keep it!
Hey Jen. Great idea on the visiting other sites. So important! I’m going to start using this little linky feature, too. It’s so much more pleasing to the eye. Brilliant of them!
Hope you are doing well. And enjoying Spring! XO
I love this! Please keep doing it this way. I’m visual and love seeing what is being posted!
I prefer the old format. I do not have time to visit all the links, and the word descriptions helped me determine which links I would be most likely benefit from. A word description, such as “Lentil Soup” shares more information than a photo of soup.
Thanks for coordinating the recipe exchange. My daughter wanted to bake a cake today and I found a recipe for Honey Bun Cake. We are excited to try this recipe and maybe more. Thanks!
I LOVE the picture linky…how very fun and appropriate for a food link up!!
Hey Jen! Thanks for your link-ups! you inspired me to do the same….IS it proper blog etiquette to invite you to come link-up at Southern SPunk? Well, please feel free to! Love all the goodness on here! )
What fun! I have clicked through some of the other blogs previously, just based on a fun name, but a picture? I’m in! Thanks for doing this!
Love the new linking system!! I vote every week!!
I love recipe link ups! I can get in a rut and make the same old stuff…I love trying new recipes and this makes it easier for me to find some! I love the pictures too!
I always spend WAY too much time trying to follow up with everyone’s links! I’m sure my husband just loves it…
Anyway, I’m a newbie here and happy to participate! I can’t wait to see all these great recipes!
Jen, LOVE the new linky layout however maybe it’s my computer -I can’t see the column to the right- it’s all trapped behind…. anyone know how to fix it to view all the links? Thanks!
@Lori, hi Lori – of course, the one day I am off line all day that would happen. It was just fine with the 4 columns before I left, but you’re right, some how the alignment got out of wack, so I
changed it to only three posts pictures in a row and now they aren’t “Trapped” any more. 🙂 Come back and take a look….for new week, I’ve figured out how to make the picture thumbnails even a bit bigger, so it should be really neat.
@Jens,
Jen, Thanks so much for ‘Releasing’ those trapped linkys. (It breaks my heart to see a poor linky “trapped”) lol =)
Every morning: You + Coffee =Inspiration! Thanks for making my mornings! I can’t wait to see what else you got up your frugal thrifty sleeve.
I LOVE the linky pictures! I’ve already visited several of the links and they ALL look sooooooo good! Thanks for reminding us of the purpose of these linkys!
So much deliciousness in one place!!!!!
I LOVE the links with images, such a great idea!
fun with the images and I like how you nicely encouraged people to visit and comment on others’ blogs. 🙂 Kelly
I love this idea! Love the link tool with the pictures, too!
Wow, I’ve never seen an image linky before. This is brilliant! Can’t wait to start browsing!
I am glad you suggested visiting other blogs and would love if you made it part of t his. I know, you always encourage it. This is the first time that I know of that people came to my blog. I made a point of visiting others and commenting and not just looking. It was fun and I have met some great people. Thanks.
I do like the pictures- it really makes the links come alive. I do wish, though, that there were recipe names to go with, as sometimes the pictures don’t really tell what the dish is.
I just wanted to say that I *LOVE* the new linky!!! Photos are GREAT!!! Thanks for trying it out, I hope to see more of it. : )
I love the images! Especially since it is of food! Makes it so easy to see the recipes and decide what to check out. Fantab idea! 🙂
