Since our family has been on a huge Chinese binge lately, it’s always fun to try something new. Peanut Butter noodles are always popular, but last year I was introduced to a unique twist on a Chinese noodle favorite.
Since Grape Jelly and Peanut Butter are two items that are easily stock piled for next to nothing cost wise, this meal is quick, easy, unique and under $5. If your kids are questioning the jelly, just try a bit and add more to create the flavors the love.
Peanut Butter Noodles (or PB & J Noodle Salad)
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Natural Super Chunk® Peanut Butter Spread
- 1/3 cup Grape Jelly
- 1/4 cup Italian Dressing
- 8 ounces whole grain (or regular) spaghetti, cooked, drained and rinsed with cold water
- 1 small cucumber, peeled, seeded and chopped
- 1 small red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
Preparation
- Cook and drain spaghetti noodles.
- Chop and slice vegetables.
- Microwave Super Chunk Peanut Butter with Grape Jelly in large microwave-safe bowl at HIGH for 30 seconds; whisk until smooth.
- Stir together all ingredients.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Serves 4 (Of course, I always double the recipe and I still keep it under $5.)

I am not a peanut butter fan, but SO is. This looks like a winner.
Interesting combo but we do it with mustard and grape jelly for lil smokies so this is probably good! Thanks for a new recipe 🙂

Yep, it’s definitely interesting. If nothing else, it gets people thinking outside our own little cooking box to realize sometimes weird combos may be just good. I think this recipe is a love it or….never again. Definitely not a “hate it.” 🙂
I will have to try this (but am allergic to onions & garlic, so I would have to leave out the green onion & make my own italian dressing). I hate to eat grape jelly, but would be willing to cook with it. This would also be good/economical for potlucks (if you know there are no peanut allergies).

Here’s another “interesting ingredient” recipe for you, although not $5–but you did get that deal on chicken breasts not too long ago…..
Fluffernutter Chicken
Saute chicken breasts until they are no longer pink in the middle. Place 1 Tablespoon of peanutbutter and 1 Tablespoon of fluff on top of each breast. They melt together to make a wonderful “sauce”, it’s not at all sticky and sweet like you might think. It’s yummy!
I made it years ago after reading it in a magazine, and it has become a favorite. Hope you try it and like it!

This really caught my eye….and I made it this week. Quite tasty! The kids were not as adventurous, but I sure enjoyed it along with a grilled chicken breast and will now enjoy it all weekend!
