I am a Family Manager that loves accountability. My heart’s desire is to be in intentional in all aspects of my life, not just with my family. My intentional balancing act also consists of my home, finances, quiet time, and a myriad of other essentials I could list. But quite frankly, when the busyness of life gets in the way, those mundane domestic tasks are often the first to get pushed aside.
That’s why I couldn’t believe how happy it made me when I took two minutes to transfer my dish soap to this cruet. Yes, it’s the little things that make my day.
During my planting last fall, I went with a wild card full of lily bulbs. There was no guarantee of the colors that would bloom, so I was a bit disappointed when they were primarily orange.
I decided to work with the colors, rather than against them, and picked orange dish soap (that I got free from my triple coupon week) to put in my $1 yard sale cruet.
Just this simple act changed the mundane to the magical. I love to pour my soap from here…it makes me feel all royalish. 🙂
Now if I could just pour, walk away, and have the servants wash them for me, then, I’d be true royalty. Oh wait, I do have servants that are trained to do this mundane task. I believe they are called my children. Do you have royalty in your house?

I have a fun brainstorm coming up where we can hold each other accountable for one month in the little things of life.
30 days of intentionality can transform the way we think about SO MANY things. But trust me, I will only set the timer for ten minutes a day, experimenting with how many areas I can take “outside the box” in transforming the little things from mundane to magical. 🙂
Does anyone want to join in?
I love the orange colors of the soap and lily ~ so pretty!! 🙂
Sure, I'll join in…..do tell more about it!

Hello, I found your blog through Like Merchant's Ships…
I do the same thing with my dish soap. I put mine in a pretty old wine bottle (I got the bottle from our favorite little cafe) and use a liguor pour spout to pour the soap. I also keep our mouth wash in a pretty wine decanter in our bathroom. Looks so much better than the Listerine bottle.
I think it's very pretty. I love the orange!
Love the 30 days of intentionality idea. I'm in!
I'm joining in, too!
I think you've been reading my mail–Oh how I need some "intent" in my life just now!

I could use that – count me in!
Absolutely! I need accountability! And the lily-cruet-dish soap combo is beautiful! : )

I love the idea of putting kitchen soaps in fancy containers, but in my home that's probably pushing the envelope too much. My hubby uses the kitchen sink way too often!

It sounds like it could be a great thing. I'll join you.
I love the color orange so I would have been ecstatic with the surpise lily!
Your "30 days" sounds good to me.

I'm all about some magic, count me in!!!
I love this idea! I try to make my home a little more beautiful day by day, and this will give me just a little more incentive to think about it more consciously. I'm in!
I love your blog, especially the frugal fashion show at the end of the week. I think we met at 5 min for mom party.. and you liked my blog design etc. Anyway, you have a great EYE and are so pretty in your fashion finds. I'll be back.
this sounds really fun! Thank you also for the spray painting encouragement! I got out there last night with your words echoing in my ears. 🙂 You're great! Kelly
Sounds very interesting – I would love to know more!
Years ago, my hubby's aunt put her dish soap in a pretty glass container that was an oil decanter – is that the right word? You know, with the long metal spout. Fun, pretty and it works.
I had this awesome soap thingy that I loved…until the cleaning lady broke it. That was back when 'times were good', now my little servants and I handle all the deep cleaning. Now that I can't go out and get massages, I have my little servants go to town on me. They all do it at once and it feels pretty good it I could only stop laughing. Have a good day Jen.
Sounds like a great idea! Count me in. I've had difficulty on IE opening your sight over the weekend. I finally gave up and tried opening through Safari, and it worked. It has done that on both of our computers. I love the colors of the soap and the lily. They just say. "smile."
Beginning August 5, I will be hosting Crock Pot Wednesdays at Diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com. I hope you will join in the fun. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for stopping by. I will be linking today's post to Tasty Tuesday. If you try the salad, let me know what you think. Have a great Monday.
I'd love to join in on the "30 days of the little things" ! count me in. Oh and btw, I love your fancy soap container . I had to go out and buy my own type from goodwill yesterday. My kitchen is decorated in the "french chefs" and I found a olive oil dispensor with my chefs on it. Perfect find to place my liquid soap in. Thanks for all your great ideas !
Cool! Count me in!! Can't wait!
I love the orange! But I love bold colors..you should see my kitchen right now! 🙂
And I am drooling over your dishsoap container…I. Want. One. 🙂
So pretty! It really is the little things, isn't it?
I'd love to join in!
I LOVE this post! I am inspired by the fact that you are so intentional in your "passionate pursuit" of the important things. I would love for you to explore the idea of accountability more. Your post demonstrates what a difference a little effort directed by your priorities can make a big difference!
love this!
i'd like to be royal-ish for a bit, too…
thanks for the smile 🙂
Dish soap from a cruet? A stroke of genius! Don't forget that you ARE royalty. You are a heir & child of The KING! 😉
