Minutes ago, magic glittered from heaven…
We live in NC and this is a rare treat, so the gleeful screams from our kids could surely be heard cross country.
This shot was captured within five minutes of the first ginormous flakes….imagine what it’s going to look like in an hour.
Now off to have the boys gather firewood, warm the hot cider, blast the Christmas carols, finish putting up the Christmas decor and snuggle in for awhile.
It’s going to be a great day. Can someone pause the clock for a bit, please?
(Edited to add: It’s been a few hours, and it’s glorious. Yes, originally, from Wisconsin, I know you Northeners are laughing at me. It’s ok…I still laugh at all the NC people running to the store for bread and milk on days like today.
Peaking down our gravel drive…

Our house tucked back in a cozy spot (below).
Oh,enjoy! I am going to be “lake effected” starting later (psbl 2ft by Wed) and it is beautiful. My dogs turn into 80lb puppies & “snoot snowplow” till the pitty-mix’s white star turns blue! Ever made snow cream? If u get enough fresh&clean, just add milk, sugar& vanilla to tast& refreeze-quick! Yum-been years…maybe me too! 😀 -s-
Oh Jen….these pictures are absolutely GORGEOUS!
It was coming down here pretty good around 1-2pm. We must not live too far apart.
I’m not laughing at all over here in Chicago! It is glorious, and we had our first day of snow today as well. Perfect for a Saturday!! Your pictures are gorgeous. The change of seasons is such a gift from God. Enjoy!
Oh I’m jealous. I’m farther east near Fayetteville and we saw sleet earlier and the rest so far has been rain. I was really hoping for a little snow.
That’s it! I’m selling my forever house & moving to your house!!!!
We’re having 25 degrees celcius (77 deg farenheit) here and looking forward to more of that in the next few months. It’s kind of hard to get into hot cider and “white Christmas” mood but hey, Christmas in jandals and Bar-B-Q for Christmas lunch is pretty good too. And we’re on the countdown to end of the school year (about one week now depending on how hard the children work) and 6 weeks of Summer holidays ! Yeah! I really need it. Enjoy the snow!

The picture of your drive is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!! It should be a poatcard! Enjoy the snow!!!! XO, Pinky
I am experiencing the same here in Winston-Salem, NC. I was out taking stuff to sell at an antique mall when it started. Suddenly everyone was singing and giggling like kids in the mall. What a celebration because it is such a rare sight. I came home, turned on the Christmas music, lit candles and walked from window to window all around the house. When I could tear myself away from the beauty for a few moments, I started decorating the tree and mantle.
Thank you for sharing your pictures with us, they are reasons captured for counting extra blessings today.
Enjoy the snow…. Living in the Finger Lakes of New York, we get plenty of it! I’d send it all to you if I could. It’s been so cold for the past 5 days that the quick little blizzard that we had hasn’t even melted off. Brrrr!!! I enjoy the pretty but hate the chilly…
God Bless!
Sue
What wonderful pictures! Snow in N.C.?! Wow. It’s cold here in PA but we haven’t seen more than a quick smattering of snow. Enjoy!!
Beautiful – I’m in Texas, and I’m jealous.
Wow! You have snow before we do in the NE (well..I guess upper Mid Atlantic….LI NY.)
It sure is pretty….That first snow is always the best….
Lucky you! We didn’t get any in Charlotte! Grew up here, then lived in Chicago for a decade (and loved it!), then moved back to NC…still miss having more snow, but don’t really miss the length of the winters there.
Your photos are gorgeous, by the way!!
It looks so heavenly! Your home and property look beautiful.
Oh how beautiful! We had some flurries here Saturday night! Enjoy it!
I love the shot of the trees and driveway. One year we went to my daddy’s cabin in the Ozarks in Arkansas, and it snowed 7 inches. It was the most beautiful snow I’ve ever seen. I have a similar shot of the driveway, lined on either side with Christmas-like trees. So pretty!
