With Father’s Day this Sunday, I know we are all going to be thinking of ways to make Dad’s day extra special by making him feel like a King for a Day, but have you brainstormed what you will do in the food department? Let’s help each other out by sharing what are some of your favorite Father’s Day food ideas.
I think I might have to take the tongs away, and become the grill master for the day.
Or you will definitely enjoy making him a special Papa Pizza for Father’s Day (as shown above with detailed instructions by following the link). You can prepare your own homemade pizza crust or just use store bought.
I think we’d all agree though it’s just about spending quality time together, and food is just a really wonderful icing on the cake. Food ties into strong memories, and if you’d love to see Dad’s face light up with delight, take a few minutes this week and make this memorable Father’s Day cake. It’s not about the recipe, but the sentiment behind affirming how wonderful Dad is in our lives. (And notice the beautiful presentation on the cake plate – remember yesterday’s post on Beautiful Entertaining with Thrifted Treasures? Yes, another reason why I LOVE cake stands so much.)
So let’s help each other out in the comments, and share some of your thoughts for creative Father’s Day food ideas. I am all ears, and he will be all tummy. 🙂
Simple Rules for Tasty Tuesday Parade of Foods – As always, please link directly to your recipe post and not your blog URL, so that everyone can find the recipe months from now. The new image link that I amusing will not accept your recipe without a link back here to www.beautyandbedlam.com.
Also, Please do not link up a recipe meme that you have started. Thanks for your understanding.
Happy Tasty Tuesday! I’ve been trying to link up my recipes for the week, but I keep getting an error that my posts don’t include a link back (they do).
@Allison @ Alli ‘n Son, hi Allison, I’m sorry there was a glitch, can you try again? It should work now.
@Jen, It’s working!
Having trouble linking up. I’ve created a backlink, but it keeps saying I didn’t. Got any ideas?
@Jackie, Ok, I think
i have it fixed. Try again. Sorry
I tried it again in Google Chrome, it worked-the joy of technology. Oh I love your new conference idea coming up. I mentioned to Southerns Savers, that I’d love to help you anytime. I’ve been speaking at local churches about my freezer cooking ministry and I live in Asheville. Thanks for all your help behind the scenes with my new blog!
@jackie brown, Thanks Jackie – I will be tackling the freezer cooking, but we’d love to have you attend. ARe you going to be able to come? If you are, if you want to send me any pieces or tidbits of advice you want to share, I can try and squeeze that into the session and give you a shout out in the session.
Thanks for hosting this each week. I love the pizza with the curly hair. My son made a frog out of his calzone the other night using black olives. It’s amazing how veristile food it.
Usually we bbq, but this year we are going to steak n shake and then taking him to the bass pro shop. Yep we will be there all day lol. Love the cupcakes.
We’re going to create hubby’s favorite meal – Chicken Fried Steak w/Gravy, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Salad, and then a Caramel Pecan Cheesecake for dessert. 🙂
Thanks for hosting again! I’m linking up with some Caramelized Onion and Date Flatbread. Almost like a pizza!
Oh I love the cupcake cake idea! Perfect!
My whole family will be together for dinner on Sunday (parents & siblings & kids), which is all my dad ever wants for Father’s Day. We’re ordering meat from City BBQ; I will make the sides and my sister’s bringing the desserts. I’m also making a rhubarb pie for my dad to take home. I made him a photo book of our trip to the NASCAR Hall of Fame back in January (last year’s Father’s Day present, taken a little late!) – so excited to give it to him!
first time linking up. Thanks for hosting. Looking forward to browsing all the links!
I love the idea of pictures in the cupcakes! This would work for Mother’s Day, and for an elderly persons birthday too! Thank you for this wonderful idea! I would love to have you come and visit my blog. I have been following you for a while now. http://klcmaher-themorethemerrier.blogspot.com
My dh loves fried food more than life itself- definitely more than everything I bake- so this year I’m trying out chicken fried steak for him. It turned out well, made even better with some white gravy!
