Over two years ago, I mentioned to my real life friend, The Nester, how much fun it would be to gather our blog readers together for an event. Back then, we were fairly new bloggers, and that dream never became a reality… until now.
Jenny, from Southern Savers, and myself, are so very excited to be co-hosting a “first of its kind” event this August 12-13. We’ve been putting our heads together for months now, brainstorming, dreaming and planning how this week can be a blessing to you.
Here’s just a bit from our Becoming site:
“Becoming 2011 is a weekend designed to encourage and inspire women to live intentionally by becoming more creative, purposeful, and frugal. As women, many of us desire to be more intentional with our time and financial resources; more intentional with our family and homes. As we gather from all walks of life, we will tackle some of those day to day issues that typically seem mundane. Our desire is that you will leave, not only refreshed, but encouraged, empowered, and motivated with the practical and tangible ideas you have received. Hopefully, by tackling the mundane, they will now have a sense of magic.
From personal finance, meal planning, entertaining on a budget, thrifting, home decor, trash to treasure, and more, Becoming 2011 will revolutionize the way we think, not just about our finances, but our homes. If it comes to saving money, re-purposing or creating, we want to cover it.”
It was difficult for me to try and summarize what this weekend would look like in a few paragraphs, so if this is something you are interested in, (or just want to hear all that we are going to do), feel free to watch my official “invitation” below.”
(If reading through email, to view the video click through to the blog.)
Five speakers, all experts in their field, will be sharing their passions with you. You can read their full bio’s on Becoming’s Speaker page. I just can’t wait for you to get to know them. You’ll love each and every one of them.
- Jenny, from Southern Savers (Coupon and Deals Legend)
- Jen, from Balancing Beauty and Bedlam (that’s me)
- The Nester, from The Nesting Place (My HGTV Design Star..she should be)
- Angela, from Button Bird Designs. (Trash to Treasure queen)
- and Rachel, who balances much (like eleven children), but no blog. (my sister in love, and Mother Extraordinaire)
Take some time and browse just a bit of what we have in store for you. It’s going to be a really amazing weekend; we would love to see you there.
Registration opens this Monday, June 13, over on our Becoming 2011 site, but unfortunately, due to limited spaces and the great, frugal price, spots will go fast.
So grab some girlfriends, be spontaneous, and meet us in the mountains.
You will not regret it, and neither will your pocketbook.
Sounds amazing, Jen! Would love to be there and admire how you managed to make it so affordable. Unfortunately, I will still be recovering from knee surgery 🙁 Will be praying for an amazingly successful time for you and the attendees!
So excited for you three. What a wonderful event – wished I lived closer – I’d be there is a heartbeat. 🙂
Will registration open on Monday at 12 am or 6am? Do you have a specific time yet? Thanks.
Such a unique & fun idea. You ladies are amazing and inspiring!
AWESOME!!!! I will DEFINATLY be there!!! You AND Jenny (SouthernSavers!!!) I am sooo excited!
How fun! What a great extension of who you are and what you are doing here! Praying God blesses it and your hearts for sharing the vision with so many!
Congratulations!!!! Such a wonderful idea!
Jen,
I just clicked over to your Becoming site, and I wanted to let you know that the post includes the wrong date for when registration begins. It says: Monday, June 10.
Jennifer
oops…thanks, it was supposed to open today, but got pushed to Monday and I didn’t update the date. Thanks so seeing that.
I really wish I could come to this 🙁 Sounds like it’s going to be great!
Bravo to the three of you for offering such an affordable conference! I would so be there, but with a family wedding and other trips planned, it just isn’t possible. I’ll keep it marked in my calendar for next year, though – I am totally convinced this thing is going to be a great success! 🙂
What a wonderful idea, Jen! I wish I could make it, but I’ll be sure to tell my frugal friends about it.
Hi! Jen,
I’ve been following Jenny and your site for a long time and think this is a great idea. I live in Florida but, I think this would make a great girls trip my mom, myself and my two sisters. Would love to finally meet you two girls. Thanks for all of you girls hard work we appreciate everything you do.
@Tammie, We would LOVE to have you, and would consider it a special privilege to have you drive so far. Hopefully, we will make it well worth your girls road trip. 🙂
Good luck, gals! I’m sure it will be fabulous!
I love that picture of y’all! You guys are going to be great! 🙂
I am all signed up and VERY excited!
@Allison, So thrilled you are joining us. 🙂
Wow…I sooo wanted to go to your conference..just got added to the waiting list…do you need any volunteers to help with the event? Maybe that way I could still “hear” some of the GREAT info!!
Thanks!!
