When a family begins home schooling, the state requires you to register a “name” for your school.
Twelve years ago, we chose “Crown of Life Academy” based on our family’s life verse and the circumstances that were so prevalent at the time.
We desire that this truth be ingrained in our children’s hearts and minds, so there is never any doubt of His sovereignty.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has prepared to those who love him.
What a blessing to know that He has it all under control. I can take myself off that “throne” now because He has it covered. 🙂
Pondering from a woman who truly knows what perseverance means….
“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved. “
-Helen Keller
Hmm…I wonder if Hellen ever persevered thru aerobics class? Hehe. Kidding. Thank you for your sunday moment. I always appreciate those of you who blog an encouraging snippet and verse on Sundays.
Blessings!!
Megan
Thank you for that!
Okay. Great.
So, I know, my character is being developed in this oilpatch where guys are calling me for jobs and breaking my heart. Right?.
(I’m really glad that my character is being built. !I was just teasing.)
If only we could see the big picture while our character is being built! : )
By the way, I’m not going to Blissdom, but my best bud, Kat, and I WILL be in Nashville with y’all that weekend! Same hotel, even! Can’t WAIT to meet you!
Great verse!
We are getting ready to start a study at church on building character. I am looking forward to it.
“Perseveres under trial” is definitely not an easy thing, but we do grow from it and are made stronger by it…if we can just “hang in there”, amen?
Thanks for giving us food for thought.
Blessings!

Great word!

hat is just beautiful! Thanks for sharing. God Bless!
You are one inspired lady! You always tell me what I need to hear. And since I had to miss church because my girls have strep throat, I needed a little spiritual nourishment. Thanks for feeding me!

I just found your blog…..Love it!
Lady you’re gonna make me cry. I love the Helen Keller quote (you know I already love the Bible one). Since balancing hubby working and being in school full time this passed year and a half AND a new adoption, AND the regular hustle and bustle of getting 6 kids to bed everynight… I have come to understand personally how we are grown to what God wants us to be through out trials. Even though I feel like I put my Mary Poppins umbrella away and take my broom out of the closet at 4:30 each day, I know that I am being guided and sustained by His power and love… to date I can successfully say all of my children are still alive and even like me! They’ve been give special eyes durring this time to see my good qualities (thank Heaven)and are so forgiving.
Thanks for the reminder.
I love the name of your school. It speaks volumes!
Would still love to chat soon… it’s time for me to get on the ball, now that we have decided to listen to His calling. 🙂
You have won an award!! Stop by to pick it up darling! Love your honest blog.
