Over the last few Octobers, I’ve participated with some of my sweet friends in tackling one theme for an entire month.
My first year, I embraced 31 Days of More with Less, while last year, I tackled 31 Days to Balancing Beauty and the Budget.
This year, I’m so excited about sharing 31 Days of Good “enough” Things.
Honestly, between Pinterest ( follow me here) and my continual mesmerization (creating a new word here) with picture perfect home ideas from around the blogosphere, I am exhausted. One second, I’m inspired, but then with a click of the button, I struggle with the desperation that I am always one step behind.
My desire throughout the month is to encourage all of you with Good things, practical things, beautiful things. Things that will make you want to laugh or take note or pin for future reference, but not perfect things; Good “Enough” Things because it’s about embracing both the beauty and bedlam of every day life.
Join me for a month of inspiration, of beauty, of practical tips and moments where we gather together and celebrate the fact that “Good Enough” is completely inspiring.
When Martha Stewart claims, “It’s a Good Thing,” I declare, “It’s a Good ‘enough’ Thing.”
Yes, Balancing Beauty and Bedlam’s original mission – One woman, in passionate pursuit of trying to balance it all – the good, the bad and everything in between welcomes every single one of us.

I’m also tackling 31 Days towards 10 Minute Dinners over at my new site.
Two years ago, the Nester asked a small group of us to join her for a 31 days series, now women all over are sharing their 31 Days topic.
Jen, what a great topic! I have been pondering that idea a lot lately, how Pinterest has seemed to have in one fell swoop raised the bar on our expectations of what life should be. If it’s not shiny and pretty and photogenic and Pinnable, it doesn’t seem to count, as if any of us really exist in a world like that. I can’t wait to read what insights you have to share this month. It will give me something to do during my own 31 Days of Living Well & Spending Zero. 🙂
Love this theme, especially in the Pinterest age. Can’t wait to see what’s in store!
Hi Jen – I recently discovered your site(s) through the Nester’s 31 Day link-up (last year’s version). I went back and read every one of your posts from that series, and was so encouraged by what you had to say. Looking forward to keeping up with you this time. I’m throwing my hat in the ring this year too, with “31 Days of Saving Money in the Kitchen”…because I figured if you can keep up with your five kids, I should be able to find the time to write a bit every day too 🙂
Thanks for this. I’m pregnant with our third child (with a four and a two year old) and I’m having a hard time accepting that things will have to be “good enough” for now.
Ah, good enough is just that. In my perfectionist world it is so comforting to know that my house/family/business/you-name-it doesn’t have to be perfect but just good enough!
Love your theme and I’m looking forward to visiting you over the next 31 days. 🙂
Jen, you are a crazy person–two 31 days topics?!
I can’t wait for this. I have always loved Martha Stewart’s “It’s a good thing” but this “Good enough thing” is right up my alley.
I know…insanity has set in, but as the Nester and I were chatting earlier, we’ve never said it HAD to be 31 days all in October. 😉 I have yet to ever make it through all 31, so I figure I will just spread these days out a bit. haha
Oh my goodness, you go with your crazy talented self! 2 blogs, wow. Already planning to follow your 10 minute dinners (which I desperately need this month considering I’m doing 31 days of Pinspiration) but looks like now I will be following you here too!
