As I mentioned yesterday, there’s just something special about summer gatherings with friends. Those care free, lazy days of summer, where friends come together around some scrumptious summer foods, are some of my favorite memories.
Today I have the privilege of hosting a few of my blogging friends for a Virtual Summer BBQ right here at my place, and I’ve requested that they all bring one of their favorite cold summer dishes.
I don’t know about you, but I am always in need of some tried and true ideas for our picnics and get togethers, and these are perfect “Must Try” Summer recipes. We are serving them up in just enough time so that you can dish them out this Memorial Day.
Not only am I having a blast throwing this bash, but I get to ask all of you, my extra special attendees, to help me out with a HUGE favor. Since I’ve asked these bloggers to create a top summer recipe using Philadephia Cream Cheese, I now need you to pick a winner because it’s not just any ordinary Summer BBQ, it’s also a recipe contest.
Beginning right now, and running 24 hours (closes May 24: 9am CST), the top summer recipe that receives the most unique comments will win $500 and a year’s supply of Kraft Philadelphia Cooking Crème. “Unique comments” means that only one of your comments per blog will count, so even if you love a blogger’s recipe so very much, your fifty five comments will not count fifty five times, but only once. (Now feel free to leave 55, since I am sure it will make them feel very loved.
)
(This contest is now closed, and all of the recipes were amazing. The Berry Cheesecake Bars won, with the Chicken Salad coming in a VERY close second.)
Since Philadelphia Cooking Cream is graciously providing this amazing prize, and I have used the cooking cremes since the first week they came out, I am going to sing their praises a bit. As I have been attempting to create a repertoire for my soon to launch Ten Minute Dinners site, I’ve learned that the easy to blend cooking cremes transform everyday dishes from ordinary to extraordinary. Their texture and chef-inspired flavors have become a staple in many of my dishes, so I can’t wait to try out these new recipes for more simple and quick ideas.
Now, prepare to become hungry.
I’ve been looking at these recipes for two days now and my stomach keeps growling. They all look SO yummy, but you will decide which one wins the top prize, so browse generously and vote.
I’ve invited these ladies because they are all bloggers that I enjoy and respect, so hopefully you will find some fun new reads, as well as great recipes.

All look good, but my favorite is the Creamy Bacon and Tomato Potato Salad by Lynn’s Kitchen Adventures. Anything with potatoes, tomatoes, and bacon has to be the best. Can’t wait to try it.

Hi Jen. Just happened to get to your site for these cool recipes. I think I will try Edie’s pasta salad!
Ps I was at one of your Dec posts, the one about the Christmas mantle, really charming. Thanks for the gentle reminder, in real life it’s not perfect and the sweet info of blog land that we pick and choose.
I wonder if you could share your green paint color that I have seen next to your fireplace (in your family room)??
I want to paint, I think I have procrastinated for ..10 years!!
Thank you!
