Have you guys checked out Swagbucks yet?
If not, you will want to take just a minute to read over my past posts. I can’t tell you how exciting it is to get items for free with no strings attached.
On Fridays, Swagbucks release larger increments, giving you a chance to earn more and thus…Mega Fridays. 🙂 (Honestly, I haven’t hit the Mega Swagbucks jackpot yet, but someday…lol)
I just had a sweet email from a reader. She mentioned this, “I have also been using swagbucks. At first I thought it was too good to be true. I have been getting the amazon.com gift cards. I made my first purchase this week and only owed $1.90 for shipping.”
I just love to hear that! If you signed up but have forgotten about using your tool bar or searching with Swagbucks, remember, slow and steady wins the race, and every $5 makes a difference. 🙂 Bit by bit it really adds us over the year, so share it with your friends. Many of my Swagbucks came from referring friends and they don’t regret it. I am contemplating splurging for a Vitamix with my Swagbucks. I’ve wanted one for a really long time.
I’ve found the best deal is the $5 Amazon gift card, but you may only redeem five like prizes a month. Since the Vitamix is going to take MANY $5 giftcards, I am slowly buying them up and then will redeem them together.
For those of you who haven’t heard of Swagbucks, it’s simply another search engine similar to google or yahoo. But instead of just searching for information, periodically they award you virtual dollars (Swagbucks) just for searching. Once you’ve earned enough, you can cash them in for prizes, including gift cards to Amazon, itunes, Target, Starbucks…you get the picture.

Tips for Using Swagbucks
So you can save up the gift certificates to use on one purchase? I was reading about Red Envelope gift card yesterday and it said “Only one code per account. Gift Cards cannot be combined.”
$5 won’t help very much, if I can only use one per order! 🙂
@Laryssa @ Heaven In The Home, Yes, some of the company’s cards if redeemed right through the Swagbucks store has those stipulations…not all, but some. That is why I am gathering up tons of Amazon cards. Those can be combined and you are essentially buying them through SB, but using them just like any other Amazon purchase. Then you’re not limited to just what Swagbucks offers. Does that make sense. You can basically buy anything you want because it’s just amazon gift cards. 🙂 Hmm…that may be clear as mud. 🙂 For instance, a friend just bought a stroller. That isn’t offered through Swagbucks, but she used it with her Amazon cards that she got through SBs. That is what I am going to do with my Vitamix.
@Jens, Makes sense. Thanks. 🙂
@Laryssa @ Heaven In The Home, So you just purchase the max limit and then redeem them at Amazon once the gift certificate dollar amount is where you want it?
I started using Swagbucks a little late last year (around September) but combined with MyPoints ended up with a fair amount of money that I used to buy Christmas presents. Since Amazon has the free shipping on a lot of things if you spend at least $25, I got several Christmas presents for free! This year I made a goal to have $60 of our Christmas money budget come from Swagbucks. It really helps so much, and it takes so little effort!
I have just started using Swagbucks as well. So far so good. So thanks for the additional information!
LOVE SwagBucks!
I signed up for swagbucks after reading about them here in February. I now have enough for $20 worth of gift cards at Amazon, in less than 2 month’s time! Thank you so much!
WOO HOO! I am so glad you let me know that…isn’t it so fun and easy?
My family and I are on the Dave Ramsey plan, debt elimination date:December, 2011. We do have a bit of blow money in the budget, however I have so much more fun getting things for free. I am currently saving up for this:
Ear Force X41 Digital RF Wireless Game Audio+ Chat with Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound
for my husband and a Nook for me. Of course once I get the Nook I will get the books free by earning more gift cards. Absolute wants, not needs, but it helps keep us focused on our main goal. I use Swagbucks, MyPoints, Send Earnings, Harris Poll, and Pinecone Research to earn cash or points for gift cards.
Slow and steady does win the race, but I am having a blast along the way.
