It’s hard for me to believe that Father’s Day is right around the corner. I will be sharing some unique and creative ideas to celebrate dad without needing to spend a lot of money.

In our hustle and bustle of every day life, people rarely take the time to write down encouraging words, and yet there’s a reason they are one of the Five Love Languages.

The written word feeds the soul, and on those days when dad has had a discouraging day at work, he can grab these ” I love you” cards and be reminded of what really matters.

This idea doesn’t need to be just for Father’s Day. Remember them throughout the year.  They are perfect for those days when you want to remind him, “Just Because,” but yes, it fits in perfectly with celebrating dad on his special day.

I Love My Dad Because:

Every year, on the eve before Father’s Day, have your children write down character qualities that they love about dad. If they aren’t old enough, ask your child what he or she loves about their dad. Write their answers on these Father’s Day cards, and hide them in places where he can easily find them in the morning. In his favorite coffee mug, shaving kit, or on the door as he leaves to get the newspaper in the morning.

You can also make this part of your “7 Days of Dad” celebration and hide one each day the week prior to Father’s Day.

After his day of appreciation, collage the cards in the “Father’s Day” album, along with an annual photo as a lifelong record of how special Dad is.

Print your “I Love My Dad Because” cards on white card stock, and make his day extra meaningful.
