Oh yes, it’s January. A fresh start. A month filled with New Year’s Resolutions and all those old familiar sentiments and goals. The kids are excited to start back with some new routines, and for me personally, it’s a month to finally continue on with my Clutter Countdown goals.
The first on that list is to make sure to organize and clear out that drawer filled with my prized possessions that have no place to go; miscellaneous pieces of sandpaper from the last painting project, mouth guards from this sports family, extra sauces from the drive through (and if there are any Chick-Fil-A sauces everyone hides them for themselves) and our beloved Box Tops 4 Education.
We just love our Box Tops and they’ve become quite the tradition in our home.
For over ten years, playing the “spot, find and cut” game on our General Mills®products have been a priority with our kids. Whether it’s General Mills® breakfast, snacks or little desserts, my girls keep their eyes open for those treasures.
For years, I’ve trained the kids to look for those coveted box tops, tear them off and put the in “the drawer.” With each box top worth ten cents, that’s cold hard cash to help out the participating schools. (Even our local homeschool organization collected box tops for years to help assist in varying projects.)
If you aren’t familiar with how the Box Tops 4 Education program works, check it out here for a simple explanation or if your school doesn’t take advantage of this wonderful fundraiser, why not consider coordinating it yourself? It’s so easy to make money for the school. I know. I’ve done it and if I can do it, anyone can. 🙂
Here’s the amazing part; Food Lion® is going above and beyond this year to offer 20 additional 20 BONUS Box Tops ($2.00 value to BTFE eligible school) when you buy ANY 5 participating General Mills® products in a single shopping visit using your personal MVP card between 1/7-1/13. Not only that, but you’ll automatically be entered for a chance to win 100,000 BONUS Box Tops ($10,000 value to BTFE eligible school).
I suggest printing off this flyer with the participating brands that carry the box tops, along with the specific details of this week long offer here. That way you will easily be able to help our your local school.
Typically, General Mills® and Food Lion® are amazing about pairing these special offers with some great coupons, so make sure you watch your local newspapers and favorite printable sections for some terrific deals.
To celebrate the start of this wonderful new year, I am giving away a $50 Food Lion® gift card to one fortunate winner.
YES, free groceries!!
To enter, leave a comment (in my comment box) mentioning what your favorite General Mills® product is from the box top choices.
A winner will be chosen randomly on January 12, 2015
