(Typically, I am not a disclaimer kind of girl, but when a video goes through editing from an outside source, and comes back a bit blurry, I just can’t help but add an “I know, but it’s out of my hands.” I was so excited about showing some quick eye techniques up close. Hopefully, the info shared is still helpful, but I will definitely post some follow ups.)

As September rushes in, it marks the start of fall schedules, fall sports and fall craziness, but with this busier time also comes some of my favorite parts of the season: cool weather, hot apple cider, my favorite fall boots, and fall make up.

Yes, there’s something fun about dragging out the deeper, richer tones in both my wardrobe and my make-up bag.

I love make up. I enjoy trying different colors, playing with different eye shadow techniques, and attempting to discover the age old secret of covering up my newly forming wrinkles.

So when Mary Kay invited me to have fun playing with some of their fall make up products, and then share with you some of the simple tips and techniques that I use at home, I dove in experimenting.

One of my must haves make up pieces for the fall is new lipstick. I put away the light pink and nearly sheer tones, and I lean towards some richer hues of color like deep plums, mauve and even accents of red, closer to the holidays. Ever since I was in college, my beauty mantra, free piece of advice has been to never leave the house, no matter how late you are, without earrings, mascara and a great lipstick, and I’ve stuck to that.

Many of you have commented in the past that your greatest make up challenge comes with applying eye shadow well. Everyone is afraid of putting it on the “wrong way.” Believe it or not, but a little known secret is that the technique is all in the brush, and the blending.

Applying shadow with a quality brush makes such a difference when it comes to blending. In the video, I used Mary Kay®’s make up brushes with the compact. I love that “Go To” set because it comes with three shades of eye shadow color, a small blush and lip gloss. It has been perfect for on the go days, and I carry it in my purse. Then when I desire to switch from a daytime to nighttime look, I turn up the level of glamour by adding…”Add in a few of the fall product names.” It’s as simple as that.

Hopefully, the video will take some of the mystery out of applying eye shadow in a quick and easy way. It’s easy to create a perfect day time eye shadow look with just this simple trio of neutral colors.
