I've got all my grandparents' old ones that no one else wanted.. they're sort of cracky and peely, which is just perfect. This year I filled one of those hollow glass lamp bases with assorted sizes of red ones, which looks really neat. I love the citrus+greenery thing, too. We live in a warm climate and have a family fruit orchard, so we always have so many, I don't feel too bad wasting a few on decorations. Love the ball thing.
