What a fabulous idea. March is the month our church sets aside for just this, with a sock drive and nights set up to house the homeless in our area. We collect gently used towels & clothing, toiletries, etc. to give those in need, and provide food, conversation, and a warm place to sleep. Wonderful post.

Taco chicken- I tenderize the chicken breasts, cut into smaller portions and then put them in a casserole dish. Sprinkle with taco seasoning and top with salsa. Cover and bake at 325ish for about an hour. We have it with mashed potatoes.

I can't believe I've been reading your blog as long as I have and just noticed TODAY that you are in North Carolina.... I'm on the Outer Banks!

We have one Good Will locally and several Hot Line thrift stores... unfortunately, 90% of the store is clothing of every size and type imaginable. Furniture is far and few between, and when it is there, sadly the prices are not worth what you are getting in return.

I'm a garage sale girl through and through, and continue to find the best stuff there. Congrats on your find... I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Thanks for all of your posts... I can't tell you how much information I get from reading your blog. And the fact that you crack me up is a BONUS!

I went back and re-read that. I am so glad that you pointed that out. I would not have thought to store the whole root in the freezer and grate it while it's still frozen. I'll have to share that tip. Thanks. :)

And trust me, even if you don't have the sesame seeds, it's hard to stop eating it. :) (Ask me how I know.)

@Jen, I think if you'll re-read that, she stores her ginger root whole in the freezer as I do.. You can pull it out & grate it while its still frozen and then toss the root back in the freezer for the next time.

I have a garlic grater plate I got at a Home & Garden Show a couple years ago & I use that with the frozen ginger.. easy peesy..
Here is a video of the garlic grater if you're not familiar with them.. (no I dont know Patti) ;) I love this plate & its just as easy to use as she shares.. the garlic peeler too. :D
