I can barely keep up with all the various modes of online communication, and honestly, I fought a “real” cell phone for years. I figured if I was online with my blog, I wanted to be completely un hooked the rest of the day, so I only had a prepaid telephone up until this past year. I went from a prepaid phone to an Iphone in one fell swoop, and haven’t looked back.
One of the apps I love the most is Instagram. In a nut shell, it’s kind of a quick day to day photo album. Most of what I put up on instagram never makes it to facebook or blog fodder (or months later), but it’s a quick peak into fun things happening throughout the day. I put about 1-3 photos up a day, and thought it would be fun to do a PEEK INTO MY INSTAGRAM WEEK.
(If you don’t have an iphone, you can see how it shows up here,or if you do have an iphone, find me at JenSchmidt_beautyandbedlam)
I’ve put the short bullet point sentences that were posted with the pictures. Maybe this will become a new weekend blog feature, we’ll see.
*Community is not just about being together, it’s about doing LIFE together. (Thanks for doing life with me.)
*Today is your day to be a “Yes” mom. Model for your kids it’s ok to be a bit weird. 😉 #tackyday #classicalconversations
*I’m at Goodwill and it’s only $5. The glass is worth that alone, and I can only imagine it painted. So cute. Said I’d finish what I have first. #decisionsdecisions
*My 9 year old has rocked this dresser redo all by herself. I am so proud of her, but did say I’d help w/the wax. 🙂 #anniesloanchalk paint #duckeggblue
*Waaa- after 4 days of pouring rain, a leak exploded on our entire ceiling. This is not the way I want to spend cash, but it’s also the reason for an emergency fund, so when life takes us by surprise, We’re ready.
*My poor family is so tired of turkey. I made an 18 pound turkey, in addition to a full turkey breast, yet I keep finding creative ways to serve it. Grilled sourdough – yum!
*Large Forecast of snow in NC is a big deal. Taco soup ready, so now bring it on.
View from my bedroom window. Country living has its inconveniences, but the beautiful trade offs are worth it, but first time in days, we’ve seen the sun. Beautiful!
When it snows in NC, life shuts down for at least a day (until it melts), so we enjoyed a cozy, lazy weekend, with our four inches of snow that is already almost gone.
Hope you are having a blessed weekend.
My husband and I used to live in Franklin, NC. We LOVED it! I so remember sitting by the fireplace and watching the snow come down – so peaceful. (although it didn’t happen very often – sad face here) We still go up occasionally to see friends and a cousin who still lives there. If you don’t mind me asking, where in NC do you live?
Hugs –
Carol

I am so envious of your country living.. I lived almost my entire life in the country until I moved to Ohio 14.5 years ago.. I still dream of being back on the land with Gods Green Land around me.. Someday…
I’ve resisted Instagram like you’ve resisted a regular cell phone Almost all the pics from there have been tuned to look like old 70s period photos & I cant stand them.. I think they’re horrible looking Why anyone would do that to their photos deliberately, I’ll never know. Im glad you didnt.
I guess I will check it out one of these days since Im having a difficult time with Picasa.. It used to be the best & easiest photo program.. but it just gives me headaches these days.
Thanks for sharing your week with us & hope you have a fantastic week!!
